The former Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys switched to YouTube in January and then took a four-month content break. Now she is back with a vlog and reveals much about her private life.
What streaming rule does Pokimane have? Actually, Pokimane is very strict when it comes to her privacy. The streamer has built a huge community over her more than 10 years as a content creator and has one of the most followed channels on Twitch.
As a former face of the streaming platform, Pokimane was very much in the public eye for years. Nevertheless, she has always kept her private life under wraps.
For example, there was no information about whether the streamer is dating someone, and if so, who. For her, “it just doesn’t make sense,” as she “usually doesn’t date people from the public eye.” In a video on her YouTube channel, she has shown herself to be somewhat more open and shares with her community that she is currently going through a breakup.

Why is she making it public now? Her reasoning for sharing her private life now is simple: “I thought this breakup could be interesting to talk about for a few reasons.”
This breakup feels different for Pokimane, she said, because she is at an age where one plans a future together with a partner. Especially when it comes to marriage and children, and then dissolving that possible future, “there is a lot to process,” the streamer said.
Also, it sometimes feels better for the content creator to talk to her community about her problems. This way she can get support from her fans, as some can relate to her emotional state and share that with her.
Pokimane has uplifting words for her fans: “You are not alone.”
This is the streamer’s message: Even though she is currently affected by heartbreak herself, Pokimane supports her fans: “If you are going through a breakup or have gone through one, be aware that you are not alone. (…) And secondly: Time heals everything.”
Pokimane values her privacy greatly
Why does Pokimane share so little of herself? Pokimane explained her reticence regarding her privacy by stating that she has had a lot of public appearances as a streamer in recent years. Therefore, her privacy became all the more important to her, and she simply wanted to “have a few years for herself”.
However, that has now changed, and she misses sharing her personal matters with her community. She finds a lot of joy in this and is trying to open up in the future.
