Diablo Immortal has finally received its first new content: the boss Vitaath in the Hell’s Reliquary. However, it has already faced criticism, as the requirements are far too high, according to players. How long does it take to defeat Vitaath?
The most important points at a glance
- The Hell’s Reliquary features raid bosses that you must defeat in groups of 8 players.
- A new boss arrives every month, and since July 2nd, you can fight “Vitaath the chilling death”.
- To defeat the demon lady Vitaath, you should have a high combat rating. This is currently a significant concern for players.
You need a strong group for Vitaath. You can find the best classes and gameplay for all classes in our Tier List for Diablo Immortal here in the video:
What kind of boss is this? Vitaath the chilling death is the second boss in the Hell’s Reliquary. To unlock her, you simply need to speak with Rayek in Westmark and then interact with the Reliquary.
Unlike the first boss Lassal with his fire, Vitaath relies more on cold attacks and has a horde of enemies as a vanguard. After defeating her, she rewards you with a trophy that increases block chance.
As the Battle Pass is ending soon and there is still no first update for Diablo Immortal in sight, fans are getting increasingly anxious about the lack of content. Vitaath is the first new content added to the game.
The problem with her is: She apparently caters very little to pure casual players. To effectively fight her, you need to have invested many hours or a significant amount of money.
Requirements too high – weeks of grind
Why is Vitaath so tough? The first stage of Vitaath already requires a combat rating of 2,000. This corresponds roughly to the difficulty of Hell 3/Paragon 80 and is only slightly below it. If you want to defeat her at higher difficulties, you need even more:
- Difficulty 2: 2,450 combat rating (about Hell 3/Paragon 150)
- Difficulty 3: 3,465 combat rating (about Hell 4/Paragon 200)
If your combat rating is significantly below the requirement, you will take more damage and deal less. Since Vitaath uses area attacks like ice waves that are often hard to avoid, she currently wipes out many troops in a short time.
One way to gain more combat rating is through legendary gemstones that are also available for free. However, this takes time. In the video, we explain how to obtain them:
Why is this a problem? Many players have not even reached a combat rating of 2,000 for the first difficulty yet. Several hours of grind per day are required for that, which not everyone can afford. Even some active players have stated that they have only reached 1,350.
On reddit, this absurd requirement is being discussed by many players. While some argue that raids can be tough and should cater to strong players, difficulty 3 is seen as far too high.
The jump of 1,000 combat rating is simply unrealistic. No one can achieve that in a timely manner, not even if they pay. A player already compared how strong one can become by paying.
According to this list, even an investment of 33,000 € would not be sufficient, at least not at Paragon 30. Thus, you cannot just buy the requirements with money either. One will have to invest time in the grind. User ZarijoG estimates:
That is somehow in the range of Hell 4. It will take months, even for people who have taken out a loan.
Even whales have found that success in Diablo Immortal cannot simply be purchased. But the requirements from Vitaath make the community worry that future content will be even tougher and may not be reachable for anyone at launch.
Currently, there is still no sign of a new update. We only know that it will revolve around the Battle Pass and eventually new content such as story and classes will come. When exactly is still open. At the moment, Diablo Immortal continues to struggle to even launch in the most important market:
