Black Desert is a paradise for AFK players. Your character can autonomously engage in many tasks while you take care of other things in real life. But what exactly can your character do without you?
If you have too much money and want to effectively increase your electricity bill, you should take a look at the AFK features in Black Desert. These are actions in the game that your alter ego can fully complete without your help.

What is frowned upon in other games or requires bots, is actually possible in Black Desert and is encouraged by the developers.
Never run out of breath – Increase stamina and strength
What gives you more stamina? You need stamina when you want to sprint or swim. It also influences how often you can use certain skills.

How do you increase stamina? Just like in real life, you don’t simply gain more stamina. You have to be active. For every step you take in Black Desert, your stamina increases. To carry out this process AFK, you can create routes. More on that later.
What gives you more strength? Strength does not affect how much damage you can deal, as the name might imply. Instead, it increases your maximum weight capacity. Stronger characters can carry more.

How do you increase strength? Look for a symbol on the map that resembles a wagon wheel. This symbol stands for a trade supervision. There you can buy items and sell them at a higher price in other cities. Trading items are very heavy, which is why you move slower. Additionally, thieves are more likely to ambush you on the roads outside the cities.
For every step you take with heavy luggage on your shoulder while wandering through Black Desert, you increase your strength. You can also automate this process with routes.
Automatic pathfinding. This is also possible in Black Desert
How to select a route: Open the map of Black Desert with “M” and right-click on a point on the map. The field “Run in circles” should appear next to your mouse cursor. Click it with the left mouse button, and the marked path should turn green. If you press “T” now, your character will follow the path until you give it the signal to stop.

Tip: If you press “Alt” and “right-click,” you can select individual waypoints that your character should follow. For example, you can draw a circular route that your character will then follow.
Warning: In Black Desert, open PvP is valid from level 50. You can be attacked by other players or monsters outside of cities. Automatic pathfinding does not protect you from damage.
A trained horse is a better horse
Why should I level my horse? When your horse rises in rank, your level in handling horses increases as well. This makes it easier for you to gain XP for your mount, and you can tame wild horses with a higher chance.
This is how you level your horse: You can also level your horse with the help of automatic pathfinding. Simply set a circular route on the map and let the horse follow it. Make sure the route is long enough for your horse to sprint. Otherwise, it will not gain experience points.

Your horse consumes stamina while sprinting. Therefore, you should take carrots with you, as they restore your mount’s stamina and health points. You can buy carrots from other players on the marketplace, for example.
Carrots keep the horse happy: Your horse can automatically consume the carrots if you wish. To do this, create a route on the map, select run in circles, and mount your horse. Press the “T” key on your keyboard. A box will appear next to the horse’s energy bar, in which you can place a checkmark.
Get rich through fishing
What is the benefit of fishing? With AFK fishing, you can easily earn some silver. AFK fishing is simple and can be done on the side.
This is how you become a fisherman: In the beginning, a normal or old fishing rod is sufficient. Just stand by the water and start fishing. A mini-game will actually start, where you have to press the space bar every now and then.

However, you can skip pressing the space bar. This causes your character to start AFK fishing. AFK fishing is less efficient than active fishing. So if you leave your computer on overnight, you can inspect the fruits of your labor the next morning.
Since your inventory is limited, it is advisable to automatically discard worthless items. Just check the corresponding box.
Processing makes items profitable
What is the benefit of processing? With the processing craft, you turn raw materials into finished products. For example, wood becomes wooden planks, which have a higher practical use than a piece of wood. Ideally, you combine processing with a worker empire. Then you can process the materials collected by your workers directly and turn them into silver.

This is how you process: Press the “L” key and open the processing menu. Select a stack of items you want to process and start the process by clicking on “Crafting”. Your character will now occupy itself with processing the items, and you can devote yourself to other things.
It is best to go next to a storage manager for processing. Then you can directly supply yourself with new items and store processed items. In the beginning, it’s advisable to process wood or smelt ore.

Tip: The Venecil costume set helps you increase your yield. When you wear the costume set, your success rate in processing increases by 3%. Additionally, you can process items directly from the storage.
Build a passive income with a worker empire
What does a worker empire provide? You receive passive silver income from your workers with relatively little management effort.
This is how you create the empire: You need to unlock nodes on the map where your workers can labor for you. You discover the nodes as you travel through the world of Black Desert. At these nodes, you need to invest contribution points to send workers there. To do this, go to an unlocked node on the map and talk to the post management.

Remember to invest contribution points in the nearby city as well, so you can connect the node and the city.
In the next step, you need to hire a worker. To do this, talk to a labor supervisor in one of the big cities. There you can hire an employee for a little energy and some silver.
The first employee in each major city can sleep and live there for free. For additional employees, you need to acquire housing.

Then go to a node on the map and place a worker there. It is advisable to assign him as many work cycles as possible. As long as you are logged in, the worker will continue to work for you.
Beer keeps your employees motivated
Employees need beer: The stamina of the workers steadily decreases while they are active for you. Therefore, it is worthwhile to have some barrels of beer on hand to keep them happy and replenish their stamina.
To make beer, you must have reached the rank of Journeyman 1 in the cooking profession. You also need the following items:
- 5 pieces of grain. You can have grain gathered around the city of Velia by your workers
- 6 times mineral water. You can obtain the water from a food merchant or innkeeper
- This ingredient can also be purchased from a food merchant or innkeeper
- 2 fermentation agents. You can also acquire fermentation agents from a food merchant or innkeeper

Building a well-functioning worker empire takes a lot of time at the beginning. But once you have established the empire, you can sit back and watch your workers generate silver for you.
In Black Desert, you can level up AFK
Automatically earn experience points: Lastly, we have the latest AFK feature in Black Desert for you. If you don’t feel like grinding your character to a higher level, you can buy the training manual item starting from level 50, which allows your character to train autonomously for a certain time.

Simply activate the item in your inventory, stand next to a training dummy, and start training. The automatic training is relatively expensive and of course not as efficient as manually killing monsters.
If you don’t want to miss out on numerous AFK activities, you can simply switch Black Desert to energy-saving mode. This will save energy, and your graphics card won’t have to work as hard.
