The gaming community is eagerly awaiting the release of GTA 6 – or at least the trailer. Because details about the content are missing. A tweet from an actor in GTA 5 is now causing a stir.
Who is it about? The tweet was sent by actor Shawn Fonteno. He is known in the gaming community for playing the role of Franklin in GTA 5. Together with Michael De Santa (played by Ned Luke) and Trevor (played by Steven Ogg), Franklin took the lead role in the single-player of Grand Theft Auto V.
With a cryptic message, Fonteno is currently causing a lot of speculation among fans. He writes on X (formerly Twitter): ‘If I told you this, I would get in trouble’ along with a smiling emoji with tears in his eyes. What he intended or meant with the statement is unclear. Shortly after, the tweet was deleted.
How players speculate
Although the tweet was deleted, it is still being hotly debated on various social platforms. In the GTA 6 subreddit alone, there are several hundred comments. Here players write:
- ‘It was deleted faster than expected’
- ‘Rockstar probably invited him and Ned Luke to see the trailer. Steven Ogg was most likely not invited for obvious reasons’
- ‘He definitely saw the trailer’
- ‘CJ and Franklin will both be in GTA 6, mark my words […]’
- ‘Either he was shown the trailer or he was told that he would have a cameo in GTA 6. It’s probably the former, but either way, that’s crazy.’
Also in other threads on Reddit, it is speculated that the actor was allowed to see the trailer for GTA VI earlier, while players are still eagerly waiting for the video material.

As GamesRadar reports, Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno recently appeared in an interview where Fonteno trolled the community and said: ‘Franklin Clinton will not be in GTA 6’, and added: ‘I’m not in GTA 6’, before he backtracked and clarified: ‘It’s still a secret. I’m just messing with you guys.’
