In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone there are new Twitch drops again: If you diligently watch on Twitch, you can grab free items.
This is new: After in July there was one of the best weapons due to Twitch drops, you can collect new drops in August. If you watch selected channels, exciting items in Modern Warfare and Warzone await you at the end.

Free Items through Twitch Drops in August
What rewards are there? In total, there are 4 rewards waiting for you. You unlock them by watching Twitch for between one and four hours:
- “Smoke Up” sticker – 1 hour
- One hour of double weapon XP – 2 hours
- The animated calling card “Big Bang” – 3 hours
- The weapon talisman “Blast Check” – 4 hours
So you get cosmetic items as a reward. If you’re not into that, you should at least grab the double weapon XP for one hour. This way, you can level up the best weapons in Modern Warfare at least twice as fast for one hour.
How to Activate the Twitch Drops
Until when does this action run? You can still grab the free items until August 19. So you should head to Twitch soon and watch the selected streamers.
How do you activate Twitch drops? You need to complete a few points to receive the rewards. We provide you with a step-by-step explanation:
- Log into your CoD account – If you don’t have an account, create a profile on the CoD website
- Hover your mouse over your profile name at the top right and then select Account Linking
- There you can link your Twitch account with the CoD profile
- Go to Twitch and watch CoD streamers who have something like “Drops enabled”, “Drops aktiviert” or similar statements in their title
- On the stream page, you can check again if the drops are actually enabled for this stream
- If you qualify for a payout, you will receive a notification on Twitch explaining the next steps. Usually, you already have the item if everything went well with the linking
What can go wrong? In the past, Activision had issues linking CoD and Twitch accounts. If you are having problems, you should try again later.
Also, make sure that a streamer actually has the drops activated. Some streamers write something about the drops in their stream title, but just want to earn clicks. Although Twitch no longer allows such blatant lies, to be safe, take a close look at the stream title.
This also works: You do not have to watch a stream continuously. Your watch time is added up, so you can periodically watch for a short time.
