A new, bold glitch is causing trouble in Call of Duty: Warzone. Players crawl through Verdansk while maintaining their field of view as if they were running normally.
What kind of glitch is this? Observant players have found a new way to gain an advantage over fair soldiers. With a little trick, they can put their character in a “Crouch” status while still retaining all the benefits of a standing soldier.
In Call of Duty: Warzone, this new trick is called the “Snake Glitch” because it allows players to move across the map somewhat like a snake.
Players crawl across the map without disadvantages
What advantages does the glitch provide? The trick changes the stance of the character. The cheaters are constantly crawling while maintaining their field of view as if they were standing.
Even when walking or running, players stay on the ground and move at usual speed. To you, they still appear to be crawling.
If the glitchers are “standing” behind a half-height wall, they can take aim at you, and you cannot see the opponents’ character. To you, the unfair “snake players” are behind this wall – so you cannot shoot at them.
Can I protect myself against it? The glitch offers little options for protection. If you even recognize where the bullets are coming from, you can hardly defend yourself since you cannot see or hit the opponents.
Moreover, the glitch is hardly recognizable as such in the kill cam. You only see a normal player standing upright behind a wall, firing at you.
If their teammates are also using the glitch, you might be able to recognize the exploitation of the bug here. But it is not as obvious as players who are in God Mode or Wall Glitchers; thus, it is also difficult to report these players, although there has recently been a feature for that in Warzone.
Will it be fixed? So far, there has been no statement from the developers regarding this bug. However, the snake glitch has been receiving more and more attention in recent days and is likely to come on the radar of the creators at Infinity Ward soon.
Cheaters and glitchers have been a problem in the title since the launch of Modern Warfare. Console players disable crossplay and soldiers on PC now have to provide a phone number so that hackers and cheaters cannot simply create a new account after being banned.
The developers are on the trail of the glitches, and especially such an easy trick as this is likely to be a thorn in the side of the creators. It’s very possible that IW will present a solution soon and the bug will disappear.
