So now be particularly cautious about the new pistol when you are in PvP and especially in the Trials.
This is how the streamer reacts: In the clip, he announces the so-called “fable 5-Freeze” right at the beginning and then initially amuses himself over the absurd happenings. However, he then becomes a bit more serious and tells his buddies: “No, we can’t win like this.” He then leaves the match with his squad, purposely losing it despite a clear 4:1 lead.
In his tweet, he summarizes the whole thing concisely but meaningfully and with a good dose of sarcasm: “With the new pistol, you can now freeze your opponents in 5 different ways. Stasis is fine as it is.”
How do others react? It seems that many players currently also see Stasis in PvP as problematic. However, there are certainly Guardians who say that one can live with it and simply learn to adapt. Even among the comments under the tweet from JOverrated, the reflections show a divided picture.
What do you think about it? Should Stasis be further nerfed/adapted in your opinion – and if so, how? Should the element perhaps even completely disappear from the Crucible or should there at least be Stasis-free modes? Or do you see the whole thing a bit more relaxed and can (now) live well with Stasis in PvP? Let us and other readers of MeinMMO know in the comments.
Many players are annoyed and complain about Stasis in PvP. However, Destiny 2 recently introduced another freezing ability into the game. A streamer has now captured how this currently affects the Crucible in a clip.
This is the current situation regarding Stasis in Destiny 2: Since the introduction of Stasis, opinions have been divided on this new element. In PvE, the ice powers are quite well-received and played very enjoyably.
In PvP, however, Stasis is a big problem and ruins a lot of Guardians’ enjoyment in an already heavily neglected mode. Especially disliked are the slowing and especially the freezing effects. Because nobody really enjoys being immobilized by enemies regularly without being able to fight back or counter in any way.

The absurdity of it all: Even though many players constantly complain about Stasis in PvP and Bungie has stated that they are aware of the problems with the Crucible, the studio recently introduced yet another way to freeze your opponents with the new Season 14 – namely with the new exotic pistol Kryosthesie 77K.
Even though this new weapon exotic is quite fun in PvE – in PvP it once again highlights how problematic the Stasis element is in the daily battles of the Guardians.
Enemies frozen for almost 30 seconds – “Stasis is fine as it is”
The Destiny streamer and Twitter user JOverrated has now exemplified the whole thing in a clip and earned a lot of agreement for it.
This is what the clip shows: He was engaged in a Trials match with his team and pointed out very vividly where the problems with Stasis in PvP lie. With the pistol as an additional freezing mechanic and using the Stasis abilities (including Super) of his Warlock, he was able to freeze the last remaining enemy for almost 30 seconds continuously – in 5 different ways:
- new exotic pistol
- Stasis Warlock melee
- Stasis grenade
- Rift with Stasis aspect
- and Super of the Shadebinder
So now be particularly cautious about the new pistol when you are in PvP and especially in the Trials.
