Gerd Schuhmann

Editor-in-Chief

In Memoriam: Gerd (✝ May 2, 2025) shaped MeinMMO for over 12 years like few others. He joined the team shortly after its founding in 2013 and quickly took on the role of Editor-in-Chief. With his knack for strong storytelling and deep understanding of the gaming community, he played a crucial role in establishing MeinMMO as one of Germany’s leading gaming websites. His immense knowledge and passionate commitment still resonate in our editorial team today. For those wanting to learn more about his work, here is the farewell letter from the team dated May 22, 2025.

Leya Jankowski

Editor-in-Chief

Since February 2021, Leya Jankowski has been responsible as Editor-in-Chief for the strategic direction of MeinMMO. After her marketing studies in the Netherlands and stints as a freelance writer and brand manager, she now combines in-depth market analysis with solid expertise in content strategy and community dynamics. As an expert in social gaming, she is the central contact person for editorial leadership and brand development, significantly shaping the platform’s vision. In her private life, her heart beats primarily for role-playing games, but she can also be found in other genres.

Rae Grimm

Head of Editorial Gaming

Because Rae was not allowed to have a Game Boy as a child, she avenged herself by becoming an online editor for video games. After seven years at GamePro, she made the leap to the overarching editorial team of Webedia Gaming in 2022, where she now also looks after MeinMMO along with GameStar, GameStar Tech, and GamePro. When she isn’t spending questionable amounts of time playing various online shooters, she prefers to read books, build Lego, or tries to keep her home jungle alive. She now owns a Game Boy.

Lydia

Editorial Management

Lydia joined MeinMMO in July 2022 as a freelance writer. The following year, she became part of the permanent editorial team and has since been responsible for gaming culture. From crazy YouTube actions to cool Twitch events to exciting developer stories, Lydia is interested in the people who make gaming what it is.
Since March 2026, Lydia has officially taken on the role of Editorial Management and is responsible for ensuring you find a diverse and exciting page on every visit.
As a teenager, Lydia learned more English in MMO chats than she ever did in school. She now enjoys hunting achievements on Steam. When she’s not at the computer, she is usually out and about with her dog, listening to an audiobook.

Sophia Weiß

Managing Editor

Sophia started her career in the Webedia cosmos in 2020 and has been active as a Managing Editor at MeinMMO since September 2023. Her main tasks involve everything related to planning in the editorial day-to-day. Final Fantasy XIV is her favorite game, closely followed by Baldur’s Gate 3. She generally dives enthusiastically into most RPGs. In her spare time, she is a real-life crafter for various hobbies like Dungeons & Dragons or LARP. However, she mostly spends time with her dog Loki, the best garden accident of all time.

Karsten Scholz

Senior Editor

Karsten has been writing about the best genre in the world (you know, MMORPGs) since 2009, and exactly that is what he has been doing for MeinMMO since March 2024. With his experience, he is the perfect complement to the juniors. At the same time, he learns something new every day – for example, about Dad’s latte and other Twitch stars. When he isn’t writing or gaming, Karsten dedicates his time to his family. The two boys need to be played tired every day.

Benedict Grothaus

Editor

Benedict has been on board as a freelance author since August 2017 and was promoted to a permanent editor in June 2021. He plays everything gaming has to offer – often ensuring he plays the craziest titles for us. However, he is usually drawn to strategy games, survival games, and role-playing games, the latter often played with pen and paper at the table. But his favorite world is that of Warhammer and everything related to it. It’s better not to ask him about it unless you have a lot of time…

Benedikt Schlotmann

Tech Editor

Benedikt has been a freelance author since July 2019 and an editor at MeinMMO since March 2021, writing about everything related to hardware. If there’s a lull in news about PS5 and Xbox Series X, he tinkers with computers and tests mice, keyboards, and everything else he comes across. When he actually plays, it’s often Overwatch on PC or Persona 5 on console. He also always has to have his DSLR camera with him when outdoors.

Dariusz Müller

Editor

Dariusz writes for MeinMMO about shooters. He has thousands of hours in competitive games like Rainbow Six: Siege, Valorant, and Overwatch, but also plays PvE titles like Borderlands, Helldivers 2, and Destiny. He is an extremely ambitious PvP player, who occasionally jokingly writes in the chat: “Imagine getting taken out by a gaming journalist lol”.

Jasmin Beverungen

Editor

Jasmin joined the team as a freelance author in May 2023 and has been a permanent member since June 2024. When she’s not fighting wars on the battlefield, harvesting crops, or spending time decorating her properties, she dives into Japanese role-playing games. She secretly dreams of becoming a straw hat pirate. However, you can hunt her with sports games.

Niko Hernes

Editor

Niko has been writing for MeinMMO since 2023. His focus is everything related to movies, series, and comics. His favorite film is Oldboy, and he is particularly fascinated by cinema from Japan and South Korea. When he’s not watching something, he prefers to spend his time on fighting games like Tekken or Street Fighter or hunting creatures in Monster Hunter. 

This probably comes from the fact that he encountered Godzilla at an early age, which is why he still loves the giant lizard to this day.

Alexander Mehrwald

Alex has been a Junior Editor at MeinMMO since November 2024 and loves sailing across the seas of various MMORPGs and role-playing games. Since childhood, he has had a passion for heroes in fantastic worlds, visually stunning adventures, and role-playing games where you can do anything with a Nat20 – well, almost anything. Besides epic adventures, he can also be consistently encouraged to play cozy games and farming games. His favorite games include Final Fantasy XIV, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Dragon Age: Origins.

Caro Fuller

Trainee

Caro started in winter 2024 as a freelance author and has been providing MeinMMO articles on gaming, community, and tabletop since August 2025. She previously graduated in Game Art and Animation, which she definitely does not use as an excuse to dive into various genre deep dives and corresponding hyperfixations every day. In role-playing games, she rarely makes strategic decisions as a self-proclaimed “vibes connoisseur” but prefers to follow characters who emotionally convince her.
In her free time, she enjoys gaming, painting miniatures, and watching movies (preferably animation, horror, or pure camp). However, her thoughts often linger in her D&D campaign, which she has perhaps made a little too much a part of her own personality.

Cortyn is our resident succubus and a longtime pillar at MeinMMO – since October 2013, the articles have contained traces of opinion. With heart and soul dedicated to role-playing games.

Marylin Marx

Lead Community Management

Mary has been playing on the PC since the 90s. She started with WoW in 2005 – much to the detriment of her math grades! Since then, she has not only successfully dropped math in her Abitur but also made her passion a career. She started as a Community Editor at the sister magazine GameStar in 2018. Since 2022, she has been leading community management for GameStar, GamePro, and MeinMMO. She still plays WoW.

Anna Alberg

Video Producer

Anna joined the MeinMMO team in October 2021 as a freelance video producer and has been a full-time employee of Webedia Gaming since July 2022. She passionately plays MMORPGs but also enjoys competitive shooters like Valorant. Additionally, she has a soft spot for games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, and especially ARC Raiders. However, deep down she remains a League of Legends fan, even though she often denies it. 

Sandra Raszkowski

Social Media Manager

At just five years old, Sandra dived into fantasy worlds – it all started with Heroes of Might and Magic 2, followed by many RPGs like Witcher, Dragon Age, or Dark Souls. When she’s not fighting on the side of the Horde or wandering around medieval markets, she supports the MeinMMO team as a Social Media Manager, joining in 2025.

Max Handwerk

Freelance Author

Max has been writing as a freelancer for MeinMMO since September 2018 and primarily focuses on the FIFA series as a passionate football fan. Otherwise, he is involved in almost all genres of the gaming world, whether on PS4 or Nintendo Switch.

Julian Schröder

Freelance Author

Julian has been a freelance author at MeinMMO since February 2019. He has been found in front of the console since childhood and nowadays wouldn’t go anywhere without his Nintendo Switch. Apart from that, he probably spends most of his time playing FIFA. But games like Battlefield V and Destiny have also caught his interest.

Christos Tsogos

Since August 2021, Christos has been writing for MeinMMO, bringing you helpful service for almost every game. Besides countless hours in Fortnite and Destiny 2, Christos also likes to dive into the depths of the wasteland and try to survive in Fallout 76. However, his greatest passion lies in Souls games – especially Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.

Johanna Heuck

Freelance Author

After Johanna completed an acting education and then realized she didn’t want to work as an actress, she tried her hand at her second passion: writing. At MeinMMO, Johanna has been writing since July 2024 on topics around gaming culture, mainly everything happening on Twitch and YouTube. Occasionally, a guide sneaks in.
Her favorite games include Horizon Zero Dawn, and she has accumulated over 700 hours in Animal Crossing. When Johanna isn’t found at her PC, her nose is likely buried in a book.

Paul Kutzner

Freelance Author

Since Pokémon has been a big theme for Paul since childhood, he has also been writing as a freelance author for MeinMMO since November 2023 about Pokémon GO and related topics. When he’s not on the hunt for the little monsters, you can also find him in simulations, in the wasteland, or building with building blocks. Of course, light sabers and magic wands must not be missing.

Cedric Holmeier

Cedric has been with MeinMMO since 2023. In the editorial team, he is often considered the Swiss Army knife because he is knowledgeable in countless areas and effortlessly works into various genres. However, his heart beats especially for Asian MMOs, which have fascinated him since childhood. Besides MMORPGs like Swords of Legends Online or Throne and Liberty, he keeps a watchful eye on the latest releases and trends from afar. When his monitor is off, Cedric enjoys tackling tricky challenges in escape rooms, having successfully solved well over a dozen. He also expresses his creativity by writing his own pen-and-paper adventures.

Linda Baumgartl

Linda has been writing as a freelance writer for MeinMMO since October 2023. She regularly dives deep into the lore of movies and series. She is particularly fond of classics like Game of Thrones or The Lord of the Rings, from which she has a fitting quote for every occasion. Her passion for fantasy also accompanies her in the gaming world, with her heart especially set on RPGs, survival titles, and complex strategy games.

Claudio

Freelance Author

Claudio has been a freelance author since late 2024, writing about everything happening in hardware and tech, while also looking critically at the latest ideas from tech bros in Silicon Valley.
His fascination with technology started with his brother’s Gameboy Colour, which he only got to handle on rare occasions. With his first own PS2, his fate was sealed. Since then, he has informed himself and his environment (willingly or unwillingly) about innovations or workarounds whenever his laptop acts up. When there are no screens in front of his eyes, he enjoys reading traditional print magazines or experimenting in the kitchen.

Ody

Freelance Author

Ody has been writing for MeinMMO as a freelance author since August 2024. During work, he spends most of his time searching the internet for exciting trailers or presenting Warhammer lore. In private, the Tolkien nerd (with basic knowledge of Quenya) and cat fanatic enjoys playing almost everything from The Sims to the hardest Soulslikes.
His love for the hobby began with strategy games like Age of Empires and Total War, for which he used to wake up early as a kid just to race with his brothers who could play a quick round before school.
