Exactly for this movie, Kabam is currently developing a AAA-MMO. However, for mobile devices. You will soon be able to visit the world of Pandora on your smartphone. Kabam, along with the film studio 20th Century Fox and James Cameron’s production company Lightstorm Entertainment, aims to provide a visually impressive gaming experience. The genre has been chosen as strategy. Apparently, you will be able to fight large battles on the distant world.
A Mobile MMO with a huge budget
“We develop games that our fans remain loyal to even after years, and the game based on Avatar will in the foreseeable future offer them new and unprecedented experiences,” says Kent Wakeford, Chief Operating Officer at Kabam. “James Cameron and the Avatar franchise stand for groundbreaking technologies and set new standards. We want to meet these standards by creating the best possible AAA-MMO for this franchise.”
The Mobile Game based on Avatar is being developed at Kabam’s studio in Los Angeles and is using the largest budget ever allocated for a game – 14 million US dollars! In terms of the story, it will apparently represent a transition to the upcoming second Avatar film, which is set to hit theaters at the end of December 2018. Much more is currently not known about the game.
