What kind of game is Warframe anyway? It is an MMO shooter with a free-to-play model that was released on March 25, 2013. Later versions followed for PS4 and Xbox One, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series. Warframe is also playable on the Nintendo Switch and iOS now.
You are a Tenno: An ancient warrior who has awakened from centuries of deep sleep. To fight, you use a so-called Warframe, a kind of combat robot. With it, you complete missions scattered across a planetary system, fighting against different factions and collecting new weapons, mods, and more.
Unmatched movement and variety – all for free
What makes Warframe so good even after 12 years? The greatest strength of Warframe is the movement. “I’m not joking when I say that the movement in this game is the best you will ever experience in a game,” the YouTuber states.
Anyone who has played the game even once or has seen gameplay knows immediately what is meant: The Warframes are hyper-agile: You make endless double jumps, leap through the air, and slide along the ground. Just moving from point A to B looks really stylish and is fun.
Another plus point is the seemingly endless build possibilities. A variety of mods for your weapons and Warframes, as well as different elemental effects that can be combined with each other, contribute to this – sometimes resulting in spectacular outcomes, as the YouTuber shows.

The YouTuber also praises the very fair free-to-play model of the game. New Warframes and skins (also for weapons) can be earned. So you don’t have to spend real money to look cool – and that is an important aspect of the game, at least for a large part of the community.
“The game has unironically too much cool stuff for me to cover everything,” the YouTuber says – and that, despite his review being 40 minutes long. “You can try to make Warframe look boring, and even then you might not succeed.”
Currently, Warframe developers Digital Extremes are also working on Soulframe. The game focuses on a fantasy setting and is still in pre-alpha.
