A new mount has appeared in the shop of WoW Dragonflight: Tyrael’s Charger. This winged horse belongs to a limited-time promo from 2011. It is now briefly available for anyone who missed it. The community is rather amused by this.
What kind of mount is this? Tyrael’s Charger actually comes from Diablo and is the steed of the angel Tyrael. Accordingly, the horse is equipped with the typical glow of Diablo angels and white wings, as well as a fancy golden armor.
In terms of appearance, the Charger resembles a bright version of the famous raid mount Invincible, which many players have been hunting for years. However, Tyrael’s Charger is actually no longer obtainable.
To obtain it, you needed to sign up for an annual pass in 2011, a year before the release of Diablo 3. Diablo 3 was included with that. The Charger was one of the first mounts available through these promos.
How do I get it now? Since the reset on December 21, Tyrael’s Charger is available for €25 in the WoW in-game shop. You can simply buy it there and add it to your collection.
However, the offer is only valid until January 2, 2023, as Blizzard somewhat obscurely explains in the official blog post about the offer.

On reddit, the news meets mixed feelings. On one hand, players are pleased that they once again have the chance to acquire a mount that they could no longer obtain.
On the other hand, they are frustrated that the offer is time-limited, pushing it back into the “FOMO” area – that is: “Fear Of Missing Out”.
This has been a topic for a while, at least since a mount was simply given away for up to €3,000. The discussion has been circulating since then, and Tyrael’s Charger has now sparked it anew.
Some note, however, that shop mounts are generally increasingly losing value, as they cannot be used for dragon riding. Dragon riding is probably the most popular new feature in Dragonflight and replaces “normal flying”.
In Dragonflight, you soar into the skies with a dragon, can accelerate and gain height – or lose it. Basically, active flying with physical laws, which many players enjoy, even if they don’t quite master it:
The downside, however, is that only specific mounts can be used. Namely, the dragons that exist on the Dragon Isles. They can be customized, but there are only 4 basic forms. Regular mounts do not work with it, not even shop mounts like Tyrael’s Charger now.
However, those who purchase the mounts can still use them in the old areas. How frequently these are still visited is another question. Many wish to have the dragon riding system everywhere in World of Warcraft, including MeinMMO demon Cortyn:
