Palworld is a new survival shooter on Steam that has garnered attention primarily due to its small monsters reminiscent of Pokémon. However, what Palworld truly has to offer can soon be discovered in Early Access.
What kind of game is this?

- You collect unusual monsters, called “Pals”, which not only assist you in combat but also serve as mounts or workers in your base.
- In the fight for survival, you use not only your Pals but also firearms. Even the cute monsters are partially equipped with firearms or similar gear.
- The open world harbors many dangers, from wild monsters to hunger, weather conditions, and poachers.
- According to the developers, you should be able to even eat your cute monsters in an emergency.
The latest trailer now announces Early Access and teases a bit more about what this “Pokémon shooter” will have to offer:
When does Early Access start? On January 19, 2024, Palworld officially launches on Steam in Early Access. According to the developers, new Pals and areas will also be added during Early Access.
What does the trailer show? The trailer gives you a good impression of what to expect from Palworld. It particularly showcases the combat gameplay and how action-packed the battles with firearms and Pals can be.
Players are excited about the “dark” Pokémon shooter
What are the reactions? As user “dalienmarrero8992” states in his comment (via YouTube), Palworld is a game he wouldn’t have expected. In his opinion, many mechanics are mixed here that he never thought would work together – but he really wants to try the game.
Especially the concept of fighting cute monsters with guns, having them work for you, or even cooking them draws interest. For instance, “Lumeonfire” writes: “This is so dark on so many levels … I love it.”
Similarly, user “barry-allenthe-flash8396” writes: “I can’t believe this exists; I’m so happy someone made ‘Pokémon with guns’, lol”.
Alongside the combat gameplay, which has already been shown in earlier trailers, the Early Access trailer also introduces a few trainers that you will encounter in Palworld. However, how the battles against these other trainers will look is not shown in the trailer yet.
