A PC enthusiast proudly presents his latest achievement. He has made his gaming rig pet-friendly to make it more accessible for his cat and to spend more quality time with her.
What did the Redditor share? The user nico_arango posted on January 27, 2026, in a Reddit post a picture of his cat. She was lying on his PC, and he titled the photo claiming he had found a solution for the cat problem

According to some reports, he chose a case that has no fans on the upper part of the computer, thus not taking in or blowing out airflow at the top of the PC. This is supposed to make the area safer for the pet in case it does decide to sit there.
The case is according to a Reddit comment from the user a Lian LI O11 Vision with tinted glass. The user also mentions in another comment in the Reddit post that he cleans his PC every two weeks with an electric fan to keep it free from additional dirt. This is a good idea even if you don’t have pets, as another user shows you what happens if you don’t clean your PC for six years.

The user even replied to some Reddit comments and explained that it was easy for him to prevent the cat from climbing back on his PC, so it was not an issue.
What problems can arise with pets and PCs? While the risk of clogged airways and fans decreases significantly if the user’s statement is true and he regularly cleans his computer, hardware and pets can still be problematic for each other.
- Fluids such as saliva or urine can quickly become a danger if they touch sensitive components or come into contact with electricity. This can lead to a short circuit, which can harm both hardware and your pet.
- Animals can intentionally or unintentionally throw or knock over objects onto the PC or even topple the computer itself. Depending on the situation, this can cause damage. The pet can also injure itself in the process.
The best solution is to place your PC in a location that your pet can hardly or not at all reach or where it is reluctant to stay. Also, if possible, keep an eye on animals and hardware when they are in the same room to prevent potential problems.
