Bosses are big chunks in The First Descendant that can knock you down. Most of the time, you have to dodge attacks and can’t attack constantly. However, with one trick, you can have much more relaxed boss fights – and you even learn it in the intro.
What is this trick? To defeat bosses more easily, you should focus on their weak points. These are marked in blue for all bosses. If you consistently attack these weak points with high damage, they turn yellow. Now you can target them with your grappling hook and zip to them.
Once you’ve zipped to them, you can deliver further attacks on these points to break the boss’s posture. Once the posture is broken, the bosses fall to their knees and are immobile for a short moment. During this moment, you can shred the boss into pieces in seconds without having to worry about dodging or placing shots correctly.
Does the trick work on all bosses? The trick with the weak points and grappling works on all bosses that have visible weak points. These are well marked by color and cannot be missed.
Which descendant should I use to approach the bosses? This depends on which playstyle you want to adopt. With Bunny, you can move quickly and dodge well, but the best option for a powerful damage output is a Gley Build. This descendant can deal massive damage with their skills “Frenzy” and “Enhanced Senses” and the weapon “Withered Organ” and doesn’t have to worry about ammunition since it is not consumed.
