A new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet focuses on the starters from the old generations, which actually makes MeinMMO author Linda eager for the DLC of the game.
What does the trailer show? A new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet showcases some of the new Pokémon that have been added to the game through the DLC “The Treasure of Area Zero.” Or in this case, to be more precise, some of the old Pokémon.
The DLC, which consists of two parts, has been available for digital download since February 27, 2023. As announced on the official website in September 2023, you can now also buy the main game with DLC directly as a bundle.
A new trailer for the bundle might just convince you of the DLC, as it focuses on the starter Pokémon from the old generations:
A DLC that could lead you back to the game
Opinions about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as you know, are quite divided.
I also gave the game a chance back then. After all, Pokémon has been a part of my life since childhood when I started the first game on the Gameboy. Unfortunately, Pokémon Scarlet just couldn’t engage me, which is why I eventually left it behind.
And that’s not even necessarily because of the story, the not-so-successful graphics of the open world, or the sometimes irritating characters. The evolution of the Pokémon themselves has disappointed me for quite some time.
Many designs seem barely thought through, the color schemes are sometimes questionable, and generally, it seems that some Pokémon were just quickly thrown together to fill the Pokédex. Therefore, my desire to catch and evolve many Pokémon quickly faded, and I just limited myself to those I already knew from previous games.
Finally, I can explore the open world with Charmander
And it is precisely at this point that the new trailer for the DLC caught my attention and awakened the desire to start playing again.
The DLC brings us back the Pokémon that have become dear to us over several generations. For example, we get to see Bulbasaur, Chimchar, Turtwig, Croagunk, or Froakie.
I especially like the idea of walking through the open world with Charmander by my side. Imagining evolving it further and pausing with a sleeping Charizard in camp already sounds much better to me than anything that Scarlet has offered me so far.
Because that is ultimately what every trainer likely imagines: exploring an open world with their favorite companion and having a great time.
Which Pokémon are you still expecting? The trailer not only shows the starters mentioned above. From each generation, at least the starters and their evolutions will find their way into the game.
In addition, the DLC also delivers plenty of other old Pokémon, such as Ninetales or Sealeo. The trailer shows that you can also enhance these in battle with Terastalization. Thus, despite the familiar Pokémon, the DLC also offers some new possibilities for them.
Which starter do you want to travel through Paldea with? Feel free to write to us in the comments.
You can even find a new type among the Pokémon only in the ninth generation: Pokémon gets a new type 10 years after Fairy
