The regularly occurring Timewalking events in Azeroth take you back to old dungeons from the World of Warcraft. There, you’ll encounter not only high-level veterans but also characters that are still green behind the ears. Thanks to level scaling, that’s not a problem!
Why is the community celebrating a tank? The WoW player Scrumshiz was lucky enough in his recent Timewalking runs to come across a very good tank. This tank is said to have led the entire group at a high pace through several dungeons – which is always a stroke of luck.
After all, you want to waste as little time as possible fulfilling the associated quest that requires you to master five current Timewalking instances.
How well-equipped is this tank? Scrumshiz dared to take a look and was so surprised by what he saw that he immediately took a screenshot of the tank’s character window and posted it on Reddit.
The Vulpera warrior was only level 11, skillfully focused on Fury, and rather poorly equipped – with just three epic items and otherwise only rare ones. However, that’s enough to get the talent Titan’s Grip and to arm himself with two two-handed shovels along with a lifesteal enchantment.
WoW community praises small tank for big performance
How does the community react to the tank? Many commentators celebrate the Vulpera player, and the post on Reddit has received over 2,800 upvotes.
- TheWorstDMYouKnow writes on Reddit: “This is what top performance looks like.”
- whitepablo celebrates on Reddit: “Legend.”
- HeirOfRhoads recalls (via Reddit): “Lol, that must be the same guy who helped me level my twink to 80 with his level-11 Fury, but he was playing as a dwarf. The best part is that he did it for free, but I sent him 20k gold to thank him anyway. :)”
- HaroerHaktak explains on Reddit: “I love running into these people. You get dragged along like a wet sock stuck in your boot, bringing nothing but inconvenience and the smell of two-day-old mold while they slaughter bosses before you even arrive.”
WoW has been declared dead several times. This video addresses three of those points:
Experts exploit level scaling to race through dungeons
Various players are also discussing the level scaling of the Timewalking dungeons, which makes such things possible in the first place.
- Warcraft_Fan writes on Reddit: “The scaling is terrible, a level 11 can almost go it alone, everyone who comes with Timewalking just cleans up behind the tank.”
- Lamumba1337 recalls (via Reddit): “I had a similar guy with level 10. He dealt 90% of the damage. I just ran along beside him and tossed a few heals his way.”
- Not just warriors can do this, explains Adm_Piett on Reddit: “Had one of those in my group another day, a level-11 monk who cleaned Zul’Farrak in 5 minutes with his Crane Kick. His damage was over 300 million.”
If you want to try something like this, make sure your character stays under level 20. From that point on, the level scaling in the Timewalking dungeons is supposed to weaken significantly. In the capital cities, you can activate the XP stop at the experience eliminators. By the way, since Patch 11.0.5, there are also classic WoW dungeons as Timewalking.
