The players of Medieval Dynasty have long wished for a co-op mode. Now there is finally new information.
Which game is it about? Medieval Dynasty is a mix of survival game and life simulation published by the German publisher Toplitz Productions.
Medieval Dynasty takes place in the European Middle Ages, where you build and lead your own village. You establish your own community that you take care of in all matters.
The game relies on typical survival and RPG mechanics. You can forge alliances with NPCs and start a family, build weapons, tools, and buildings, or supply your village with food.
Particularly, the constant interaction with the NPCs represents an important part of the gameplay because anyone who wants to establish and expand a village must meet the needs of the inhabitants of their land.
This gameplay aspect distinguishes Medieval Dynasty from many other survival games, for which it has received praise from many players and has gathered 90% positive ratings on Steam with over 25,000 reviews.
Co-op Mode Appears with New Map
What is the deal with the co-op mode? Looking at Steam in the Medieval Dynasty community hub, one topic keeps coming up: the co-op mode.
For years, players have been wishing for a way to experience the currently solo-playable survival game with friends. There is even a thread created and pinned by the publisher (via Steam), and now there is finally new information.
What new information is there about the co-op mode? The publisher Toplitz Productions has shared a new trailer for the co-op mode. This offers a first glimpse of a new map called “The Oxbow,” which is set to be released with the co-op update on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The map is expected to be playable both solo and with friends and will include lively villages as well as new stories and characters.

Additionally, the trailer shows a graphic with four boxes labeled “Co-op Mode Features.” At the end of the trailer, the first box of this graphic is filled with the words “New Map” (in English: new map) and an image of “The Oxbow.” It can thus be assumed that three more new features of the co-op mode will be presented in the near future.
When does the co-op mode come out? Currently, no release date for the co-op mode is known. Toplitz Productions also states on Steam that a statement from the developer studio “Render Cube,” which mentioned a release of the mode in October 2023 on June 12th, was incorrect. The actual release date will be announced “in due time.”
Toplitz Productions is working with various development studios on other games that follow the concept of Medieval Dynasty. However, the game “Wild West Dynasty,” released in February 2023, has been struggling with technical issues since its release.
In autumn 2023, a spin-off titled Sengoku Dynasty is set to be released, which will take you to feudal Japan and is also expected to come with a co-op mode:
