In the MMORPG Black Desert, a large event took place where guilds could earn many billions of silver. However, an error in the localization caused the rewards to shrink by 90%.
What happened? From May 29 to June 12, the Operation Guild Support was running, where guilds were to complete guild missions together to earn additional rewards.
To do this, fortresses and a galleon had to be built, which took considerable time and resources. However, the reward mentioned in the blog post attracted many players:
- It was promised that there would be 3 billion silver for the construction of the fortress and participation in the Node War
- and as much as 7 billion for building a fortress and participating in the Conquest War.
But a small error crept into the translations.
One digit too much costs guilds billions in silver
Where is the error? According to Kakao Games, only 300 million or 700 million silver were planned as rewards. In the localization for the West, it seems that an additional 0 was added.
The error was only noticed after the event when the rewards were to be distributed.
What is the compensation? To ensure that players are not completely disappointed, Kakao Games decided to distribute a Golden Bell to participants of the Node Wars and 2 Bells to participants of the Conquest Wars.
Bells increase the experience points gained across the entire server for one hour. They cannot be sold.
How are the players reacting? In the official forum and on Reddit, players are currently expressing their frustration over the error and also the compensation.
The player Mily calls the action ridiculous and wonders why he risked his guild to then receive a bell as compensation for a developer’s error. Other players agree with him.
The short duration of the event during which the tasks could be completed seems to have caused stress for many guilds. Some guilds even spent double the amount of silver to achieve the goals compared to what they will now receive as a reward.
The bell is considered worthless in the eyes of many players and is not seen as compensation for the time spent and the billions of silver they would have otherwise received.

What negative headlines have appeared recently? Black Desert has also made negative headlines in other areas over the past few months. In Russia, all account data was deleted during a publisher change.
Additionally, in March, many accounts were mistakenly banned during the Shadow Arena.
On the other hand, there is also good news. The new class Shai has been around for a few days:
