The Helltides in Diablo 4 are a great way to find the best loot for your character. In Season 3, the timing of the Helltides was improved, and a small change in the patch notes helps you find the best loot even more easily.
A few days ago, the first patch of the new season in Diablo was released. In addition to the desired changes to the new season mechanics, there was also one for the Helltides. The rate at which the Helltides appear has been significantly improved. They are now active every hour and take only a 5-minute break between Helltides.
The Helltide is a late-game activity that can be done after completing the campaign. Defeating enemies in this area allows you to collect embers, which you can spend on various chests in the area. Good loot awaits you in the Helltide chests of secrets. To make them easier to find, new map symbols have been added.
This and a more consistent Helltide made my experience much more enjoyable.
In the current patch notes for Diablo 4, it is described that the Helltide chest of secrets and the living steel chest now visually differ better from the other chests on the map. These chests are represented in orange on the map, while the regular Helltide chests continue to be shown normally.
This makes it much easier for players to specifically target the chests. Previously, external websites were needed for this. On Reddit, this small change has been received positively.
- Valstraxas:
This and a more consistent Helltide made my experience much more enjoyable.
- ASoulToBear:
A very welcome change! It was so annoying to use websites to show where the actual locations are.
- Buschkoeter:
One of my favorite changes since I no longer have to constantly look at another screen to find the chests.
The major change in the Helltide frequency and the new icons improve the farming experience for many players. While some users criticize that the aspect of a secret
chest is no longer present because of the icons, this aspect has never truly been there anyway due to the many popular websites for the Helltide.
Nevertheless, users also criticize that such a quality-of-life feature comes so late. According to the motto better late than never
, the change seems to receive a lot of support, especially since it improves the chances of obtaining good items. You will also need these for new builds: Diablo 4: Even Oneshot Builds won’t help you for particularly good loot in Season 3
