The open beta of Diablo 4 has left many fans feeling empty. Many are now fleeing to other games during the waiting period until the release. One game has especially captivated many players: Last Epoch, which is currently booming on Steam.
What kind of game is this? Last Epoch connects, broadly speaking, Diablo with Path of Exile and has been in early access on Steam since 2019. The game features a significantly greater variety and selection than Blizzard’s model.
You can choose from 15 classes and over 100 skill trees and create builds. As in any good ARPG, you are constantly hunting for better equipment and trying to perfect your character.
For years, the ARPG had only a few hundred players, occasionally a few thousand. But in March Last Epoch exploded on Steam with up to 40,500 players simultaneously. A record for the small indie project.

On Steam, Last Epoch has a rating of 85% positive reviews. Most players report that the systems are somewhat more complex than in Diablo, but otherwise, the gameplay is absolutely delightful.
For some, Last Epoch is not an adequate substitute for Diablo 4, but for this group, no game can currently satisfy the need. Diablo 4 has incredibly excited too many people.
When can I play Diablo 4 again? On June 6, Diablo 4 will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. According to current information, no further beta tests are planned in advance.
Anyone who pre-orders the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition can also start 4 days earlier, on June 2. However, there is no other advantage to pre-ordering. The first season will not start until a bit later anyway.
