Dying Light 2 gives you the ability to distribute skill points and learn new abilities. One of them is very popular in the community – because it can overpower almost any enemy. Even bosses tremble at the special kick.
What is this skill? The Dropkick is one of the skills from the combat tree. You can unlock it relatively early with enough health points. The Dropkick is among our skills you should get early in Dying Light 2.
With the ability, you can perform a kick in the air while sprinting and jumping. Aiden hits the enemy with both feet and sends them flying back a good distance before he lands on the ground himself.
As a prerequisite, you must have learned the air kick and possess at least 180 health points. If you still need health points, you have to level up through inhibitors first. You can find inhibitors in key crates or the secret safes scattered throughout the world.
Dropkicks are “a little broken”
What makes the skill so strong? Even though the Dropkick initially sounds like a “nice gadget”, it is actually one of the strongest abilities in the game. With the Dropkick, you can:
- kick enemies off rooftops and thus send them to their death
- kick enemies into spike traps and instantly kill them
- cause good damage with the skill and push almost any enemy away from you
The skill works even without a weapon, making it an optimal “last resort”. The effect works against almost every enemy except the mutated Goliath zombies with heavy clubs. A user says on reddit that he has defeated almost every boss of the game with it.
Moreover, you do not just hit a single enemy. If your foes group up properly, you can even hit multiple at once – and push them off rooftops or into spike traps:
Are there any downsides? Yes, you land on the ground after each Dropkick and are vulnerable to attacks. So if you already have low health points, you should think carefully about when to use a Dropkick and whom to show your soles to.
However, if utilized correctly, you can eliminate enemies before a fight in the open world and no longer face such a strong overpowering force against you. Just make sure to hit your target, otherwise, you’ll be totally defenseless for a short time.
