The two beta weekends of Diablo 4 are over, but the fans of the action RPG do not want to wait idly for the release. Instead, they invest their time and reveal one of the biggest secrets the game has to offer.
What puzzle is it about? The secret that some Diablo fans are still pondering after the beta weekends involves the “Bloodied Wolf” (German: Blutiger Wolf), a mysterious figure from the intro of Diablo 4.
Your first encounter with the Bloodied Wolf: The Bloodied Wolf meets you within your first minutes of Diablo 4. After a long journey, night falls upon your character. You explore a stone statue by the roadside with your torch when suddenly your horse becomes restless and runs away.
Shortly thereafter, you hear a neigh, followed by the sounds of a beast feasting on your horse. Curious, your character follows the strange sounds when the silhouette of a wolf rushes past you from behind, extinguishing your flame.
The next day, your character continues on, without a horse, and finds themselves in a snowstorm. They struggle to a cave, where they then collapse and fall asleep. Shortly thereafter, you encounter the Bloodied Wolf once again – this time not just as a silhouette and we see its bony visage.

Fans find clues pointing to a known boss
What have fans discovered? There are a number of threads on social media that deal with the mysterious Bloodied Wolf. Fans are speculating about what the beast could represent and who it might be (via Reddit).
The Reddit user Fiveinthestinkk took a closer look at the runes that adorn the wolf’s bony forehead.
In a book about the lore of Diablo (Book of Adria: A Diablo Bestiary), he found runes that resemble those of the wolf and reference Mephisto. Mephisto is a boss from Diablo 2 and known as “the Lord of Hatred.” Additionally, he is the father of Lilith.
The Bloodied Wolf seems to play an important role in the story of Diablo 4. It meets us not only in the intro but also appears at a later point in the game’s narrative.
Additionally, players who reach level 20 on at least one character during the beta of Diablo 4 will receive a wolf pup that they can carry on their back.
Anyone participating in the beta of Diablo 4 will receive an incredibly cute gift
