A decision in Baldur’s Gate 3 can give you a solid bonus, but it is only available to one character. And for that, he must admit that he learned nothing from his past.
Which character is being referred to? It is the team’s wizard – Gale, who seems willing to allow foreign magic into his body. His constant and slightly reckless ambition has already made him what he is now. A ticking, hungry time bomb.
A rare scene in Baldur’s Gate 3, which can only be experienced with Gale, again puts the wizard’s ambition to the test. Because it lures with a strong bonus that can be obtained with the “right” decision for Gale.

A strong reward for a small price
What happens in the scene? The scene with Gale can only be triggered in the second act of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. There, you encounter three somewhat grotesque-looking personalities: Gerringothe, Thisobald, and Malus Thorm, the three Thorm siblings, who can become a significant challenge without a charismatic speaker.
If you defeat them and examine them with Gale, he notices that their bodies were corrupted by shadow magic. A player discovered this and shared his experience on Reddit.
When Gale examines the body of Malus Thorm and perceives this dark magic, he is faced with the choice to dissolve the magic before it spreads – or to absorb it into himself. No saving throw or similar is required; it’s purely a decision.

What bonus can Gale receive? If Gale absorbs the shadow magic, he receives a permanent extra level 3 spell slot as a bonus, which is separate from his other spell slots for shadow magic and recharges after each long rest.
However, it seems that dark magic changes Gale. His face briefly becomes dark, and the narrator shows what his pursuit of even more power could mean for him:
