In Baldur’s Gate 3, players are currently benefiting from a bug. They remove a piece of clothing to gain significant power. MeinMMO reveals the details.
Spoiler: The article contains minor spoilers for Act 3.
The fascination of Baldur’s Gate 3 lies, among other things, in the many possibilities available to you. One particularly interesting option is the ability to succumb to the Illithid powers, which grant the player powerful abilities.
By consuming some parasites you find on your journey, you gain access to these abilities. One such ability is Freecast, specifically a toggled passive. The passive allows you to cast your next spell completely free – without consuming resources. This is already pretty strong. No spell slot, action, or bonus action is required.
Normally, you need a long rest to benefit from Freecast again, which keeps the ability balanced. However, due to a current bug, this can be circumvented.
The quirky bug: refreshing Freecast by putting on and taking off clothing
According to PCGamer, there is a way to renew Freecast without taking the normally required long rest. All you have to do is put on or take off a piece of clothing. This quirky bug allows you to utilize the significant power of Freecast in an almost endless cycle.
Here you can watch a video about it:
However, there is a small catch. Putting on or taking off a piece of clothing in combat requires an action, which means this cannot be done in the midst of heated battles. But outside of combat, this method becomes an easy way to make Freecast ready to go again.
Surely, Larian Studios will fix the bug eventually. But until then, you can continue to use this opportunity and benefit from the power of Freecast again and again.
