A small mistake that could happen to any of us caused an unfortunate player in Lost Ark to lose a lot of loot. We at MeinMMO explain the situation and ensure it doesn’t happen to you.
What happened to the player? Currently, there is an event in Lost Ark that is very similar to Mario Kart. Participants must complete a track within a time limit and receive loot at the end if they perform well.
Shortly before the match starts, a portal opens, and players are teleported from the normal region to the event area. This fact caused an unfortunate player on reddit to miss out on a lot of loot.
He decided to quickly unpack some rewards just before the event started. These included several bags full of valuable Life Shards, which are the currency you need to upgrade equipment between Gearscore 802 and 1,302.
Unfortunately, he had no pet equipped, which led to most of the blue shards being left behind when the event started and the player disappeared from the track.
How did this happen? In Lost Ark, the cute little creatures ensure that you actually receive your loot. The automatic pickup of items is one of the main functions of the adorable companions. However, you must summon the pets on a new character before they work. Additionally, there are certain areas where pets are disabled.
In the video, it is clearly visible that the player thinks he has a pet equipped. He is waiting for the loot to be picked up. However, when he realizes that nothing is happening, it is already too late.
He panics and clicks on the dropped items, trying to pick them up himself, but for most of the Life Shards, every rescue comes too late, as that was his mistake. Due to the frantic clicking, he accidentally hits the portal into the event, thus leaving his loot behind.
According to his own statements, the player lost about 10,000 Life Shards. This corresponds to about a full day of farming, and all because he didn’t have a pet equipped. So learn from his mistakes and always make sure to have your little creature ready.
Or simply don’t open your loot in time-limited instances or while you are waiting. This is just one of the 200 comments that the post has since received.
The community feels sympathy
How do the fans react? The player posted his loss on reddit under the title “Don’t do what I did and open your materials in an event without a pet.” He receives a lot of support and even more sympathy for that.
The fans confirm under the post that such a thing can happen to anyone and many have already forgotten to equip their pets themselves. However, usually not in such critical situations as happened to the thread starter.
Moreover, there is some criticism from players regarding the implementation of the event. Normally, you cannot open loot in dungeons, raids, and other time-limited areas to prevent such a scenario from happening. However, it seems that Smilegate and Amazon did not consider this in this event, which annoys some fans.
