A player in Pokémon GO has now proven that Giovanni can even be defeated with just one Pokémon. He used only one monster at Super League level, which means under 1500 CP.
This is what is currently happening with Giovanni: After weeks of absence from the Rocket boss, you can challenge Giovanni again. The battle is actually quite tough, but trainers want to win spectacularly against Giovanni.
Recently, we showed you a trainer who defeated Giovanni with 3 Pokémon under 1500 CP and without a shield. Now, one player tops that: He even needs just one Pokémon under 1500 CP.
How to win against Giovanni with just one Pokémon

How did the trainer manage that? He used an Irokex for his victory. The Pokémon is particularly strong in PvP, and this is also shown in this clip.
Irokex masters the charging move “Boost Attack”. It has two major advantages:
- It charges incredibly quickly and draws Giovanni’s shields out
- Using it boosts Irokex’s attack, making its fast move significantly more powerful
Additionally, it has its second charging move “Parasitism”. This does slightly more damage than “Boost Attack” and can deal quite good neutral damage to Suicune.
Moreover, Giovanni here probably has one of the worst teams he can use. Digdri is the weakest of the 3 Pokémon he can choose second, and Snobilikat has a favorable fast move that doesn’t deal too much damage.
How strong is Irokex really? The Pokémon tends to fly under the radar for many trainers. While it is not as popular as Azumarill or Altaria in the Super League, it is actually quite strong there.

This is significant: Giovanni is probably currently the hardest NPC in Pokémon GO. The fight is meant to be challenging. But now it seems that it’s not as difficult as one thought.
