In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a player made an impressive sniper shot. He saw a strange flying object coming and skillfully shot it down. In the end, it turned out that he hit a missile.
What happened? The player and reddit user MattyTSquared recently posted a video where he made a genius shot. In a multiplayer round of Modern Warfare, he saw a fast-moving object racing towards the battlefield in the sky.
He didn’t know what it was, but he had the suspicion that it couldn’t be anything good. So he aimed with the sniper rifle, adjusted his shot angle, and pulled the trigger.
The perfect shot hit, and a bright explosion shook the sky. MattyTSquared had seemingly shot down a missile from the killstreak cruise missile.
Players didn’t even know you could shoot down missiles

- Fast, moving targets are hard to hit
- Fast, moving targets at long distances are even harder to hit
- It was completely unknown that you could hit and destroy missiles
Therefore, many of the reddit users were quite surprised by the video and could hardly believe what they saw. Consequently, there was a lot of praise and congratulations for the lucky marksman.
What was the reward for the effort? Curiously, there were no experience points, achievements, or other feedback from the game for the shot. Therefore, a minority among the commenting readers suspects that the shot was not valid and the missile exploded for other reasons. However, it indeed looks like the shot was the trigger for the explosion in the video.
