In Tibia Online, there are items that are really, really rare. A player has three items on their account, each of which exists only once. Two of them are worth over 20,000 euros together, and the special crown may be worth even more.
What items are these? The Brazilian player Rei de Lutabra is the lucky owner of these items. They are:
- The Crown – it was distributed in 2000 as a special reward at an event in the Thais Temple in Antica.
- The Magic Longsword – this weapon was a compensation for a player who accidentally found an item that was not supposed to be available in Tibia. It is still one of the strongest weapons in the MMORPG.
- The Blessed Shield – this shield was handed over to the player Elleshar in 1999. Elleshar had previously helped with the graphic design for the game.
All of them can be seen in the player’s house.
How much are these items worth? The shield was sold for 12 billion gold in June 2022. This corresponds to approximately 15,690 euros. The Magic Longsword was sold two years ago for around 3,500 euros, but according to the community, it is actually worth more.
There is no fixed monetary amount for the crown. However, it is considered something like the “Holy Grail” and is likely to exceed the value of the shield.
In Tibia, there is the possibility to trade in-game items for Tibia Coins. These coins can in turn be purchased for real money, which means that the value can easily be converted into real currency.
In Tibia, insane amounts are offered for accounts
Are these high numbers exceptions? Not really. There are some items in Tibia that have such high value. Rei de Lutabra himself still owns the Gamemaster Doll and Ephanie, a sword, both of which are worth around 3,000 euros.
Additionally, players are willing to pay large sums for accounts that rank high on the leaderboards. The Twitch streamer Bobeek, for instance, had at one point the second most powerful hero in Tibia. He was allegedly offered 250,000 euros for this account by a user.
However, he declined. He is not interested in selling.
The sale of characters in the MMORPG is also conducted through an official platform. This is meant to minimize the risk of “illegal character trading”.
For CipSoft, the trading between players is, by the way, a great stroke of luck. Through the purchase of Tibia Coins and the character exchange, the developers make passive income. This benefits all employees:
