Dominik has accomplished what many players in Pokémon TCG Pocket likely dream of – he has collected all the cards that are currently available in the game. MeinMMO was able to ask him 10 questions, the answers to which we want to share with you.
What has he achieved? Dominik contacted MeinMMO when he saw that we were reporting on an American player who had already completed his card collection. He also managed to collect all the Pokémon cards that are currently available in TCG Pocket.
However, Dominik had the slight advantage of having played since the release in New Zealand. Therefore, he has been able to collect since September 27, 2024. Still, it’s an impressive achievement considering how likely the rarest cards are to appear in boosters.
Additionally, we were able to ask Dominik 10 questions, through which we learned how exactly he went about it and what goals he has now. You can find his answers below.

How did the collection process go for him? Dominik approached collecting in a structured manner. He created a list to see which cards he was missing in which boosters. The more cards he pulled from a booster, the harder it became to get the missing cards. He was able to observe this equally across all boosters.
This is how he proceeded:
- Dominik used the Premium Pass to get additional boosters.
- He spent a total of between 500 and 750 euros in the in-game shop.
- To complete the collection, he had to open 1,518 packs. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a single God Pack included.
- He obtained 4 of the cards using pack points: Gardevoir, Charizard-ex (🜲), Zapdos-ex (☆☆), and Marowak-ex (☆☆), with Marowak-ex being his last card.
- While opening boosters, he collected many duplicate cards. He now has 10 immersive Charizard-ex, 6 immersive Mewtwo-ex, and 3 immersive Pikachu-ex cards. Should they be made available for trade, he has a good starting position.
The wonder choice helped him little. He could only win 3-5 cards for his collection this way. However, at this point, Dominik only has 13 friends, which may have limited his selection. What helped him was marking the missing cards with “Favoritize”:
It wasn’t really many, I claim between 3 and 5 – but one can say that the wonder choice is pointless after a certain point, as the really rare cards do not appear. However, it helps enormously if you mark the missing cards as
Want. This way they jump right out at you.
What does he plan to do next? Unfortunately, there is no reward for completing the collection. There is a small notification that you’ve completed the collection:

Nevertheless, Dominik has set his next goal: he wants to win a total of 1,000 battles against other players by the end of 2024. He has already reached this number in CPU battles.
What decks does he play? Since Dominik has collected all the cards, he has all options open to assemble a deck for the PvP mode. He revealed to MeinMMO which 3 decks have brought him the most victories:
- Solo MistyArktos-ex: 2x Arktos-ex, 1x Helix fossil, 2x Misty, 2x Professor’s research, 1x Giovanni, 2x Sabrina, 2x Potion, 2x X-Initiative, 2x Pokéball, 1x Handperiscope, 2x Pokédex, 1x Red card

If you accept friends in Pokémon TCG Pocket, they can see what you have in an unopened booster before you do. It doesn’t seem to matter which pack you pick from the selection: Pokémon TCG Pocket: Your friends can know before you which cards you have in the booster
