In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a player has now played for a day to be one of the first to get the new, hard-to-obtain Master Camo. The Obsidian skin, however, disappoints FaZe Jev.
What are these skins? Infinity Ward had already announced in March that with Season 3 new rewards for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are coming, which will give hardcore players even more to do.
Until now, the “Damascus” skin was the rarest weapon camouflage in the game. Players had to complete numerous tasks to get the skin. About 700 hours of gameplay were required to obtain the Damascus Camo. “Camos” are weapon paints.
With the patch on Wednesday, the new Master Camo was introduced. These are “Obsidian Skins”, very dark paints for each weapon.
To obtain the special skins, you have to play a lot with a weapon and achieve well over a thousand kills.
This was the challenge for the Obsidian skin: To unlock the Obsidian skin for the “AX-50” sniper rifle, a player must first earn the gold skin of the weapon and then achieve 125 times 15 kills. That makes 1875 kills, which even strong players need to play for a while.
However, it’s possible to complete the task multiple times in one round, so you don’t necessarily have to play 125 matches, but can achieve it in fewer games.
The normal strategy is to play small maps like Shipment in the “Shoot the Ship 24/7” playlist to get as many kills in as little time as possible.
A professional from the FaZe clan, Jason “FaZe Jev” Eugene, has taken it upon himself to get the weapon skin. He has “played all day,” as he says in a YouTube video.
Master Camo differs too little from regular black
This is what he says: FaZe Jev is disappointed with his reward. He believes that the Obsidian Camo barely differs from the regular black version. While the Obsidian Camo makes the weapon look as if it is carved from a single piece of obsidian, hardly anyone would notice. The weapon doesn’t look terrible, but he apparently expected more.
The Damascus paint at least stands out, even if it is really ugly.
Pure busywork to cover up real issues
This is his criticism: FaZe Jev criticizes that the reward does not reflect the effort that players have to put in to unlock the Master Camo.
According to him, the skins are only for investors. This can be said to show that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare engages players. The multiplayer shooter is not just supported by Warzone.
For FaZe Jev, the reward seems to be mere “busywork” for avid players and not a cool reward. For him, this challenge shows that things are not going well for CoD: Modern Warfare.
This is a “stupid ass challenge” that is only about keeping players engaged because Infinity Ward does not want to solve the real problems of the game, FaZe Jev continues.
Anyone who plays as much as FaZe Jev develops their own strategies. We have shown loadouts from 3 CoD pros that they use in CoD Warzone and how you can replicate those loadouts.
