A player builds your camp in Fallout 76 – and it’s basically for free! You only have to provide the materials. MeinMMO spoke with her and asked about her motivations and inspirations.
Who is she? The player is known by the PSN name “Stomatome” and is a member of the MeinMMO group for Fallout 76 on Facebook. She recently advertised her services as an architect and builder for the Fallout MMO.
Stomatome has been building camps since the release of Fallout 76, initially only for friends, now also for “clients” and offers various types of constructions:
- floating (movable)
- normal (fixed location)
- round (fixed location)
With a trick, she can even place your camp underground. She has even uploaded videos of her different building styles, such as in this example for a round type:
How does it work? Stomatome offers to build a camp for you in exchange for the corresponding materials. She explained to us how exactly she goes about it:
- first, it’s clarified what kind of camp you want
- she then looks for a suitable building site
- if you are satisfied, the C.A.M.P. will be placed there
- you then give her the required materials for construction, which will stay with her until the project is completed
- after that, you leave her alone to work. In the meantime, you remain in contact via voice chat
- occasionally, you will be asked to wallpaper the walls as desired
For the foundation, she needs 1,000 units of wood, steel, and concrete each. How to farm wood and steel quickly, you can find out here. An additional 250 units of copper and ceramic are needed for wiring – furniture and decor can be provided upon request.
How can I contact her? Stomatome has published a post on Facebook where you can find her contact information. She plays on PlayStation 4.
Fallout 76 Architect in Interview
We seized the opportunity and grilled Stomatome with further questions. One of the most important questions was where she gets the inspiration for the camps and what her biggest challenges have been so far:
During the time I spent in Appalachia, I saw many types of houses and, of course, gathered ideas. Each of my houses is unique, and I always try to build differently.
The most elaborate camps I built were two floating ones. One [client] wanted a kind of spaceship, the other one a pyramid standing on a pointed roof.
She emphasizes that she doesn’t care what she builds. She just enjoys it: “I don’t have ‘favorite camps,’ I always have fun building.” With a wink, she adds: “Unless the client is in my way and hinders me when building their camp.”
She only stays away from thematic camps like a horror school or a deathclaw labyrinth.
Tips for Aspiring Builders
Due to the Wastelanders expansion, many players had to relocate or rebuild their camp, as NPCs suddenly reside at their locations. This was one of the reasons for Stomatome’s offer. We asked her for tips for anyone who wants to take the hammer in hand.
She is very direct and encouraging: “Be creative, believe in yourself! When my children have self-doubts, I always tell them: You can achieve anything if you want it badly enough and put in the effort.”
On April 14, the Wastelanders expansion for Fallout 76 was released. With it, people returned to Appalachia, and settlers and raiders have unique packages that let you build your own camps. Perhaps Stomatome is an inspiration for you, and you’ll try your hand at a beautiful house.
