Not all NPCs in World of Warcraft want you to turn in the quests. Especially Lady Vashj is resisting and trolling players excessively.
Last Wednesday, the new week in World of Warcraft began, and with it, a fresh part of the current campaign of Patch 9.1 was unlocked. However, after just a few quests, players encounter a new, quite annoying problem. They can hardly or not at all turn in the quests because the NPCs resist.
What is the problem? During the latest campaign quests, players are accompanied by key characters, namely Kael’thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj. Both not only have funny dialogues but also help in battle and are the quest givers for some missions.
However, Lady Vashj has turned out to be not a Naga but a real troll. When you try to talk to her, she steps just a few millimeters out of the interaction range, causing the dialog window to close automatically before the quest can be turned in.
How tedious – and quite frustrating – that can be is shown in a small clip by Binary-eclipse in the subreddit of World of Warcraft. Here you can see how he desperately tries to turn in the quest at last, but Lady Vashj desperately resists:
How does the error occur? This seems to be an unfortunate chain of several reasons. NPCs accompanying the player usually try to maintain a certain distance to avoid obscuring the player character. For particularly large characters – like Naga – this distance is a bit greater. In most cases, this is compensated by giving these characters a larger “hitbox” to interact with.
With Lady Vashj, however, this seems to be lacking, causing her to escape just in time.
Can this be fixed? Yes, there are several workarounds to manage the problem. It works best if you simply look for a corner where Lady Vashj has no choice but to be near you. You just “trap” her between you and the wall, and then you should be able to turn in the quests without any issues.
Alternatively, there are also several addons with an “Auto Complete” function, mainly used by turbo levelers. In that case, you might miss the quest text, which contains quite interesting story campaign information that provides many exciting details for lore lovers this week.
A bit of patience is therefore needed until Blizzard ensures that the Naga lady will no longer troll you in the future.
