The Wall of Wishes, which recently opened in the Forsaken raid “Last Wish”, continues to engage the community. Now the ninth wish has been found, which allows the AI Failsafe to be “summoned”. She “takes over” our Guardian during the raid and provides her commentary on the events.
What does the ninth wish do? The ninth wish can be activated with the following code in the Room of Wishes in the “Last Wish” raid:
As a result, Failsafe “takes over” our Guardian during the raid. During each encounter, Failsafe now comments on the events as “Captain”. Below, we have translated some of her remarks from English.

- During the encounter with Shuro Chi, the happy Failsafe says: “Another humanoid woman, is she a friend or foe?” To which the grumpy Failsafe responds: “Either way, I will shoot her.”
- After the battle with Shuro Chi, the happy Failsafe says: “I was aware that it is my duty as Captain to shoot bad guys and save good guys. I didn’t know that could mean both.” Grumpy Failsafe: “That is … confusing.”
- After defeating the ogre Morgeth, the happy Failsafe cheers: “I just defied 37 laws of physics!” Grumpy Failsafe: “Cooooool.”
Who is Failsafe? Failsafe is an AI from the Golden Age. After the colony ship Exodus Black crashed on Nessus, she has been stranded on the planetoid for centuries. Due to the crash and long loneliness, Failsafe has developed two personalities, one of which is happy and the other grumpy.
Failsafe acts as a vendor on Nessus.
How are players reacting to the new wish? In the Destiny subreddit, Guardians are currently having fun with the ninth wish. Despite some criticism, Failsafe is a popular NPC.
However, some players hoped for a different voice. On Reddit, some Guardians were disappointed that they can summon Failsafe and not the currently very popular Crucible overseer Lord Shaxx.
Shaxx has always had his followers among players, but since Forsaken, his popularity seems to have increased. He is already considered a replacement for Zavala at the Vanguard. His relationship with the Queen of the Awoken, Mara Sov, has also earned him some respect in the community.
