What the hell does “According to the judgement of the Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale” mean and why is everyone dancing to this nonsense on Tiktok? Editor-in-chief Leya got to the bottom of it and found the answer in Genshin Impact.
Sometimes TikTok is the absolute fiber dream.
Your “For You page” is a feed personalized for you by the algorithm. So you don’t just see videos from the accounts you follow. This gives you a wide range of different content, which can be anything.
For about a week now, I have been flooded with videos of people dancing to a rhythmic chant.
Every few seconds I hear: “According to the judgement of the Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale” and see people dancing to a rhythm that can be heard in the words.
Here’s a typical video of this trend from creator _ludaloma:
Typically, creators remain silent until the mention of the “Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale.” With each new cut, they change their movements, which are rather silly and playful.
Strangely: No one seems to really understand where the trend comes from, why everyone is dancing to it, and what these words are supposed to mean.
I must admit that I needed a hell of a lot of attempts to even remotely understand the words. I still can’t pronounce it.
What’s behind: “According to the judgement of the Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale”
After it drove me crazy that I only understood gibberish, I did a quick search and stumbled upon Genshin Impact. It’s a free role-playing game often compared to Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
In our editorial team, we have a pretty big fan of the game in Marie. She always keeps you updated about the current codes in Genshin Impact.
I asked Marie for an explanation:
Neuvillette, voiced by the voice actor Ray Chase, is the so-called “Chief Justice” and holds a position akin to a judge. During court proceedings, the machine “Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale” is used.
After the trial, it pronounces the final verdict on the guilt or innocence of the accused. The clips on TikTok come from the cutscenes in which Neuvillette mentions the machine.

Why has this trend exploded now? Unfortunately, I can’t name the exact reason here.
I can only explain what the origin of the trend is. From my observations, most people dancing to the “Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale” do not seem to know that the origin lies in a video game.
Why the sound is peaking right now, I couldn’t find out in my research. If any of you out there know, please write it in the comments so we can add that here accordingly.
For many, it just seems to be a fun earworm that they enjoy.
In the Genshin Impact community, this chant probably wasn’t a big topic until the trend broke out on TikTok.
However, this is very typical for the platform. Certain sounds get picked up, there’s a snowball effect, and suddenly TikTok is flooded with it.
Now it’s only a matter of time before the sound and the dances to “Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale” flood Instagram reels.
What fascinates me about it is how much influence gaming has on modern pop culture. After writing this text, the “Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale” will also stick in my head for a while as I nod along.
