In Dune: Awakening, a new player made a great discovery. The community is happy for him but chuckles at the situation at the same time.
What did the player find? If you start now with Dune: Awakening, the chances are high to find an abandoned base. Since the release in June, many players have left the survival MMO, losing ownership of their belongings to the desert.
Of the peak of 189,000 players at release, only about 28,500 are left logging in on weekends (via SteamDB). The new player TargaryenKnight experienced exactly that. He is still in the middle of the campaign but found an dissolving base full of loot during his exploration of the world and was thrilled with the new wealth.
A Matter of Perspective
How rich has he become from the discovery? On Reddit, the user writes about what he has found. Among it are said to be 10 crates full of resources, two working sandbikes, and he looted 100,000 Solari. In addition, he found 1,000 fuel cells, the weapon “Arens Vengeance,” and many other items needed for crafting.
He took over the base and thus secured the loot directly. He believes he is set for the rest of his days on Arrakis with the money and items. However, the community of Dune: Awakening sees it differently.
What does the community think? The players of Dune: Awakening are primarily touched by the player’s story. They are happy for him about the discovery and wish to be “new” in the game once again.
However, the loot that the player has looted will not be enough for the rest of his time, fans explain. They compare the situation to a 5-year-old who finds a hundred-euro bill and thinks he is now rich. In the adult world, however, that doesn’t mean much.

For new players, small treasures can mean the world, while experienced pros might only yawn at amounts like 100,000 Solari.
