The Digimon series thrilled many children of the 90s and early 2000s and is still being developed today. A new MMORPG has now been announced in Korea. The content of the first season of the series plays a significant role.
What kind of game is this? Digimon Super Rumble is set to be a new, full-fledged MMORPG for Digimon. The game is being developed by Move Games, who previously created the MMOs Digimon Battle Online (2002) and Digimon Masters (2009).
Much is still unknown about Super Rumble:
- The new MMORPG is being developed in Unreal Engine 4
- It is supposed to be based on the first season but will also introduce new characters and stories
- The first images already show familiar Digimon and iconic locations
Iconic Characters and Places in the Images
What do the first images of the game show? Currently, there are 7 images of Digimon Super Rumble. All of them look graphically impressive and appear significantly more modern than the previous MMOs related to the series.
The first image shows the 7 starter Digimon and the character Gennai, apparently waiting on an island for the arrival of the DigiDestined:
In the further images, you can repeatedly see iconic places that fans of the first season can immediately recognize:
- The beach with the phone booths from episode 2
- The subway from episode 3
- The wrecked ship of Kokatorimon in the desert
Additionally, there is a screenshot showing Agumon and Devimon fighting and an image in a snowy landscape:
When will the game be released? For now, Digimon Super Rumble has only been announced for Korea. However, there is still no release date. Whether the MMORPG will come to the West is also unknown.
However, the other two Digimon MMORPGs from Move Games were released worldwide, albeit with several years of delay.

- Criticism is directed at the poor translation, much grind, and pay-to-win aspects
- Many say they still play the MMORPG today because there is no other good MMORPG for Digimon
