The new MMORPG Sword of Justice has announced its first closed beta in the West with a new trailer. Especially the NPCs are said to be something very special.
What kind of MMORPG is this? Sword of Justice is a theme park MMORPG from China, set in a Wuxia world. Wuxia describes a certain style of play and means in Chinese MMORPGs something like medieval low fantasy, and is best known in the West through Swords of Legends Online or World of Jade Dynasty.
In China, the new MMORPG has already reached over 40 million players within a month according to NetEase, who play not only on PC but also on Android and iOS. Lifelike NPCs thanks to AI
What’s the deal with the realistic NPCs? Sword of Justice has developed a groundbreaking feature. As a player, you can communicate with the NPCs not just through preset dialogues, but have far-reaching options since an AI gives the responses and these are not pre-written.
This means that NPCs are supposed to react individually to events and player actions. To what extent this will actually work in different languages besides Chinese can soon be seen in the beta. This will start very soon.
When does the beta start? Sword of Justice invited all players to the closed beta at the end of the new trailer. According to SwordofJustice.com, interested parties can register for the beta between August 29 and September 16. However, it is unclear how many places are available.
From September 26 to October 9, selected testers can then play the MMORPG for the first time in the West. The test is not subject to confidentiality according to the registration and may be streamed. Therefore, one can look forward to the feedback from the testers, even if one was not lucky with the registration.
Sword of Justice wants to offer a fair free-to-play system already in the beta according to SwordofJustice.com and thus create PvE and PvP battles. Anyone who logs in on each day of the beta will also receive a title that can then be used in the final game. When the release of the MMORPG will take place is still unknown.
