On Steam, a new game has been announced that is inspired by a popular toy from the 90s. This concept is already quite well received on Kickstarter.
What game are we talking about? Tiny Garden is a game from the Spanish indie developer studio Ao Norte. The concept of the game is inspired by a popular children’s toy that could especially excite children of the 90s.
The developers are currently raising funds through Kickstarter to secure future financing for the project.
The concept of Tiny Garden seems to be simple. Within a small plastic toy, which is clearly inspired by Polly Pocket from the 90s, you take care of your own little garden, plant various things, and then sell your harvest.
The “plastic look” fits the nostalgic concept
With the proceeds, you can buy new furniture with which you can then decorate the rooms in the upper part of the toy according to your ideas. Everything is graphically designed in a colorful and cute style, which somehow fits the whole concept. Above all, everything has that “plastic look”, which gives you the feeling that you are actually playing with an old toy from your childhood.
The game is supposed to be released on Steam and the Nintendo Switch. However, there is not yet a specific release date.
How is it being received? Currently, the project is still raising funds on Kickstarter for further financing. And on Kickstarter, the cute farming game seems to be quite well received.
The developers have set an initial goal of €5,000. Thanks to now 1,081 supporters, they have already raised over €22,000 (as of July 10, 2024, 2:00 PM). Thus, the indie studio has already achieved 400% of its goal.
On Kickstarter, the project still has 22 days left, during which interested players can financially support the game.
