In Pokémon GO, you will soon be able to obtain a new monster from the Galar region. And it even brings you some Shinies.
In Pokémon GO, the event “Yamper’s Paw Prints” has been announced. It starts on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 00:00 and runs until Sunday, June 22, at 23:59. As the name of the event suggests, you can catch Yamper for the first time in the event and also obtain its evolution, Boltund. For the evolution, you need Yamper and 50 candies of the monster.
Additionally, the event will bring you an increased Shiny chance for three monsters as well as a strong bonus that you can utilize during the event.

Which Pokémon are in the event? Not only Voldi is waiting for you in the event. You can encounter the following monsters in the wild during the event:
- Growlithe*
- Snubbull*
- Houndour*
- Poochyena*
- Electrike*
- Lillipup*
- Furfrou*
- Fidough
- Hisuian Growlithe* (rare)
- Yamper (rare)
All monsters marked with a * can also appear in their Shiny form.
Which Shinies are in the event? In addition to the debut of Yamper, there are also three monsters in the event where the chance of encountering them as Shiny is increased. These are Snubbull, Poochyena, and Furfrou. You can encounter all three Pokémon in the wild, in field research, and in limited research.
What bonuses are in the event? Besides the increased Shiny chance, you can also look forward to a Stardust bonus in the event. Here you will receive double the amount of Stardust for each captured monster.
If you use a Star Piece, you can even receive four times the amount of Stardust when catching Pokémon for the duration of the item’s effect.
Further contents of the event: There will be limited research available on each of the three days of the event. The tasks for completing the research revolve around exploring and catching Pokémon. Here you can earn 3,000 experience points and 1,500 Stardust each day. Additionally, there will be encounters with Poochyena on June 20, Furfrou on June 21, and Snubbull on June 22.
There will also be field researches with adjusted tasks and a paid limited research. You can purchase the research for $0.99 (about 1 €). It includes 4 incense, 6,000 Stardust, and further encounters with event Pokémon.
