True love among gamers – does it exist? A new app aims to help unite lonely players.
Have you ever thought while gaming in front of the console or PC: “Somehow it’s a bit lonely here in the apartment”? After all, gaming – with a few exceptions – is not exactly the perfect place to find a partner.
But there will soon be an app specifically for this problem that targets lonely gamers. The “Kippo” app will be basically the “Tinder for gamers”. At least, that’s the plan.
What is Kippo? With Kippo, gamers can provide many different details on their profile. Not only can one specify their favorite games, but also provide more detailed information for individual games. Here are a few examples:
- What rank level do you play at in Overwatch?
- What is your favorite champion from League of Legends?
- Which starter Pokémon is the only correct one?
- Which house would you join in Harry Potter?
This way, you can filter out all the Ahri fanboys and Squirtle fans and focus only on the people who make the correct choice (namely Charmander).
Similar to Tinder, you can then rate the profiles with a “Yes” or “No”. If the respective user also replies with “Yes”, you get in touch and may have found a new (gaming) partner for life – or at least for a session.
Also intended for gaming friends: However, Kippo is not only designed to find that one great gamer love. The app should also be suitable for simply finding players who share the same interests. If you currently have no one to play Stardew Valley with, you might find a suitable gaming partner for a new game save or new friends for a dungeon visit in World of Warcraft. Particularly tanks and healers will probably find many “matches” there quickly.
So, if you mainly game alone and want some company, whether just for gaming or perhaps for a longer-term relationship, you might want to give Kippo a chance.
