The Battle Royale Naraka: Bladepoint is set to launch on Steam in August. This was announced during the PC Gaming Show as part of the E3 2021. The game stands out mainly due to its Asian style and fighting system compared to its competitors.
What kind of game is this? In Naraka: Bladepoint, 60 players fight against each other. PvP is the focus. You arrive on a mysterious island. Unlike in Fortnite and PUBG, you do not rely solely on firearms for defense.
Instead, the focus is on melee combat, using sticks, swords, or your fists. Additionally, you can use rifles and bows to attack enemies from a great distance.
You also have many movement options. You can:
- Climb towers, rocks, or trees
- Use grappling hooks to swing through the air
- Walk along ropes
When will the game be released? The global release of Naraka: Bladepoint will take place on August 12. Prior to that, there will be an open beta that everyone can participate in. It runs from June 16 to 22.

Why does it remind me of Sekiro? Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an action RPG set in an Asian setting. There are certain parallels between the two games, including:
- The Asian graphic style and setting, with Sekiro looking significantly more modern and polished
- The grappling hook, which allows for movement throughout the game world
- The clothing style
- The combat system, blending tactical elements with fast-paced action
