In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone there are numerous ways to customize your weapons with attachments. A new attachment now reveals your position as soon as you shoot – but also has a significant advantage.
What kind of attachment is this? It is the muzzle “JAK BFB”, which you can unlock in the Battle Pass since Season 1 Reloaded in CoD: MW3. Don’t worry, you don’t need to own the paid version of the pass for this. The attachment offers enormous recoil dampening but also has a significantly louder muzzle blast.
This causes your position, including your viewing direction, to be displayed on the minimap. This can quickly become a downfall in Warzone, where positioning often decides between life and death. In other modes, the attachment could also be advantageous.
“This could be the meta on small maps like Shipment”
What does the community say about the attachment? On Reddit, the muzzle is also a topic in the Warzone subreddit. There, “AmarOriginal” writes on January 20, regarding his video clip: “This muzzle is a CHEAT CODE for recoil control.”
The user “gruvccc” comments: “We knew exactly where a team was tonight, […] and we also knew whether they were facing us or someone else. They all used it. This definitely has huge downsides.”
In response, Reddit user “mferly” thinks that only “turbo-sweats who don’t care whether they are on the radar or not, because they can just sweat out of almost any situation” will use the attachment. For more recoil control with weapons that already have insane little recoil, he will not reveal his position on the radar.
In the MW3 subreddit, several users note under the post by “OriginalXVI” from January 18 that the attachment is “a must-have for the zombie mode” (source: Reddit). Another user writes that the attachment could be the meta (in multiplayer) on small maps like Shipment because: “No disadvantage if you’re spotted every two seconds anyway.”
Recoil dampening, but map ping with viewing direction
When we tested the attachment in a private match, we found the following:
- The weapon recoil is significantly reduced (see image)
- As soon as you shoot, you become visible to enemies on the map with a red ping
- The ping does not show the level you are on, but it shows the viewing direction
- Visually, the ping looks somewhat like that from an enhanced drone
- Once the enemy activates a drone, you are visible with the same ping
- If the enemy equips the field upgrade “Portable Radar” and you shoot once in the area, you are also still visible (in the area) with the ping

Regarding recoil, we were able to notice a reduction. In the example image, you can see the bullet holes in the wall at about 5.2 m distance. In both cases, shots were fired with the AMR-9. Right without attachments, left only with the JAK BFB.
Keep in mind that these are tests in private matches. Whether the attachment is worth it for you in normal modes, you will have to weigh for yourself.

How do I unlock the attachment? You can get the “JAK BFB” muzzle in field A21 in the Battle Pass, even in the free version. Unlike usual, you unlock the fields in the sector not with tokens, but based on special tasks.
The muzzle is the second field in the sector. For this, you need to achieve 10 operator or special zombie kills with SMGs from the hip.
This is a task in the sector of the Battle Pass, which you also have for the new submachine gun HRM-9 in front of you. However, to unlock the new weapon, you must complete a total of four tasks: CoD MW3 & Warzone: How to unlock the HRM-9
