The 1124th manga chapter of One Piece ended with a silhouette of a person whose identity is still unknown. Fans are now speculating about who this could be.
Where does the mysterious figure appear? Luffy and the Straw Hat crew are heading towards Elbaf. There, they will encounter the island of giants, the home of Boogey and Woogey. However, there is another person who could be important for the Straw Hat crew.
In the last image, there is a person who is depicted only as a shadow. They are drinking from a bottle and seem to be wearing a large, flat hat. They say something like “Come on” and are waiting for the pirate crew.

He thinks that the person might have some connection to Oz. This refers to the zombie giant that Gecko Moria used in the fight against the Straw Hat crew.

One Piece hints at a mysterious figure
Who could be behind it? In the Reddit forum, there are some speculations about who the person might be. The community comes up with several names that could be behind the shadow:
- The answer with the most votes is Scopper Gaban. He is a former member of Gol D. Roger’s pirate crew and has never been seen live in the manga.
- Many also believe that it could be the man marked by flames. This refers to the person Eustass Kid spoke about when it came to the location of the One Piece. He will definitely play an important role.
- Loki is also a possibility. He is the prince who rules in Elbaf.
- Alternatively, Hagwar D. Sauro could also be a candidate, who is especially anticipated by Nico Robin. The two have known each other since Robin’s childhood. It is known that Sauro has settled in Elbaf with books from Ohara.
Many suspect that the person is the same one we already know from chapter 631. On the manga cover, ship’s doctor Krokus was seen with a man with whom he shares a cup of sake. The two seemed familiar with each other.
The design suggests that Shiki is another possible candidate behind the mysterious figure. He has a shared past with Gol D. Roger and would therefore be a suitable candidate.
Shanks is also thrown into the ring of possible identities. After all, Shanks was seen on Elbaf a few chapters ago, and it could be that he is still waiting for Luffy.
We suspect that Scopper Gaban and Shiki are the most likely candidates. There could indeed be a connection to Gol D. Roger, and Elbaf is the perfect setting to introduce these characters, who have so far not appeared in the manga, to Luffy.
On the other hand, we find Shanks and Hagwar D. Sauro unlikely. The mangaka Eiichiro Oda would probably have shown Shanks directly, and Sauro is not as slim as the person depicted in the image.
