Many games are currently on sale in the Steam Summer Sale. One of them is the MMORPG Project: Gorgon, a true hidden gem with very positive reviews on Steam. You can currently get it for half price.
What kind of game is this? Project: Gorgon is a fantasy MMORPG developed by Elder Game and LLC. The setting is reminiscent of classic old games like Everquest or Asheron’s Call.
At the same time, it focuses more on PvE and offers an open world that you can explore freely. A lot of the MMORPG’s content you have to discover for yourself – there are no clear paths or quests to guide you through the gameplay.
There are no predefined classes like in most other MMORPGs. Over time, you develop your character further and level up your skills.
Although the game is designed for a multiplayer experience, it is also very playable solo. You can befriend not only real players but also NPCs. Similar to Lost Ark, in Project: Gorgon, you build relationships with NPCs to receive rewards and progress in the story.

Players praise the depth of the MMORPG
On Steam, Project: Gorgon currently has a “very positive” rating, with nearly 82% of the 1,590 reviews rating the game positively.
What is particularly praised is that players must work through the content of the MMO themselves. Most games in the genre guide players through the story and show precise paths. Sometimes there is even a function to automatically walk to the goal. Project: Gorgon offers exactly the opposite, and players love it.
The community is also highlighted positively. Players of Project: Gorgon are friendly and help each other because they know it can be difficult to progress.
Additionally, players praise the skill system, which works entirely without a class system.
What do players say on Steam:
- Jen242: “The game doesn’t look pretty, but the world is full of magic and wonder.”
- Eredien: “I haven’t had this much fun since I discovered computer games in the early 90s.”
- Caleon: “A lot of freedom! While there are some quests, a big part of the game is also exploration. Those who need a guide or quest marker for every step are guaranteed to be in the wrong place.”
Who is the game worth it for? For players who want to discover a new world without being guided too much. Project: Gorgon thrives on tricky puzzles and is therefore aimed at players who enjoy engaging deeply with dialogues and texts. You need a lot of patience for the game.
Furthermore, Project: Gorgon appeals to fans of old-school MMORPGs. An accordingly dated graphic should not bother you.
What do you think about Project: Gorgon? Will you take advantage of the deal and buy the game? Have you perhaps played it already? Or is the open world too exhausting for you, and would you prefer a game that shows you the way? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
