The first players can play Blue Protocol, one of the most anticipated MMORPGs of recent years. Already after the first week, developers report 600,000 players, even though the MMORPG is not yet playable everywhere.
What kind of game is this? Blue Protocol is an MMORPG in anime style developed by Bandai Namco, that sends you 1,000 years into the past. The goal of your time travel is to save the world by preventing a devastating catastrophe.
To successfully save the world, Blue Protocol offers you five different classes as well as an action-packed combat system, with which you can complete a fully voiced story and PvE content such as dungeons and raids. There is supposed to be no PvP in Blue Protocol.
On June 14, 2023, the MMORPG celebrated its release – but only in Japan, as Blue Protocol has postponed the release in the West and will only be available for German players in 2024 on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you can’t wait for the Western release of the MMORPG, there is a way to play Blue Protocol already now in Germany. However, there are reports that say Bandai Namco bans players who gain access to the MMORPG from outside Japan (via massivelyop.com).
How did the release of Blue Protocol go? Like many releases in recent years, Blue Protocol also struggled with server issues at the beginning. There were login problems.
Meanwhile, the MMORPG is said to be playable well, and the developers provided an initial insight into the numbers behind the release (via blue-protocol.com).
According to Bandai Namco, Blue Protocol already recorded a total of 600,000 players in the first week after the Japan release. Furthermore, there was a peak of 200,000 concurrent players.
