On reddit, a user posted a leak about Destiny 3. It is supposedly from an early trailer. The leak was quickly debunked by fans, but it is quite creative and wrong enough to be worth watching.
Here was the leak: A user said, “a friend of his” works at an editing studio that is currently editing a trailer for Destiny 3. His images are supposedly from this trailer. He then posted 3 images that allegedly show Destiny 3.
This is the most exciting image from the leak: The most interesting image shows a dark figure in futuristic armor with a beam weapon. Above it is an interface with values like “Level 30” or “Defense 257”. There is also some flavor text to read.
Apparently, the image is supposed to represent the character interface of Destiny 3: the way you see the character when you inspect a piece of armor.
Hey, your image is from Terminator 1
This is how the leaker was exposed: Shortly after the leak went online, a user said: The image is from the first Terminator movie. This quickly deflated any discussion.
Other users were also able to recount the scene where they first saw this image.
Additionally, there were further inconsistencies in the image, as noted by GamesRadar:
- This is supposedly a character interface, but no game designer in the world would ever depict the character in such darkness.
- The lore text “When the last war comes we will be the victors” comes from a lore text of an armor set of the “Future War Cult” from Destiny 1.
- Defense is misspelled; in Destiny, it should be written “Defense” and has not been used as a stat in a long time.
- The icons were incorrect – Destiny has been using different ones for 7 years.
- The armor the figure wears resembles the “Noble Constantine Red” set from Destiny 2.
- Furthermore, the trailer is 11 minutes long – somewhat exaggerated.

It turned out like this: The user who posted the leak quickly admitted it was likely a fake. He had fallen for a friend’s trick.
When we can really expect information about Destiny 3 is currently up in the air. The PlayStation 5 will likely launch without Destiny 3, the development will take longer – until then, Destiny 2 remains relevant: some content plans extend for years.
However, there are leaks about Destiny 3 that are significantly more credible than this one.
