With the 6th episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the 1st season of the Westeros series comes to an end. Here’s everything you need to know about the last episode.
Warning: In the following article, we spoil the events of the 6th episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Episode 5 was probably the most epic episode of the season. The judgment of the Seven has taken place and the knights of Duncan faced off against the knights of Aerion Targaryen.
During the battle, a tragic incident occurred and the 6th and final episode of the season deals not only with the consequences of that but also with the future of Duncan and his squire Aegon aka Egg.
We summarize the most important events of the episode after the video:
The Aftermath of the Battle
How is Duncan after the battle? Duncan is visibly devastated by the death of Baelor Targaryen, who fought for him and gave his life. Right at the beginning of the episode, there is an argument with Lyonel Baratheon, who is not as sad about Baelor’s death, because only a dead dragon is a good dragon.
Throughout the episode, he speaks with some companions he has met during the season and says goodbye. Suddenly, however, he is picked up by knights of the Targaryens – Prince Maekar wants to see him.
It is revealed that Aerion is being sent east, and we see how Maekar is struggling with the death of his brother. However, Maekar offers Duncan a great opportunity. Egg, wishing to serve only Duncan as a squire, offers that he could become a knight under Maekar. Duncan would be trained himself, and Egg could be his squire.
Duncan declines, as he no longer wants anything to do with princes.
How is Prince Egg? Prince Aegon seems to be struggling with his own family. Armed with a knife, he goes into his wounded brother Aerion’s room, but is stopped by his father Maekar.
One last time, Duncan speaks with Maekar and wants Egg as a squire, but not with his family, rather on a journey of their own. Maekar declines, as a Targaryen should not sleep in the dirt.
Aegon, however, is not interested in a comfortable bed and fine food. Egg has snuck away, against his father’s will. Just before Duncan leaves, Egg goes to the hedge knight and rides with him on an unknown adventure.
This is not the end for Duncan and Egg. Their adventures continue in a 2nd season. But before you see them again, another Westeros series, which takes place long before Game of Thrones, is going into its 3rd season: House of the Dragon Season 3: Start, Trailer, Cast – All info regarding the new season
