In the universe of Star Wars, most of the Jedi met a particularly harsh end. Through a nasty tactic, the entire Order was eliminated. One Jedi Master faced a particularly harsh fate.
Who is it about? The Jedi Master Shaak Ti first appears in Star Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones and is a member of the Jedi Council. She is portrayed in the film by Orli Shoshan. After the film, she also appeared in the Star Wars: Clone Wars
-2D miniseries and in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
She, too, was affected by Order 66. However, her official
death is never shown directly. In Season 6, Episode 11 of The Clone Wars, Yoda has a vision of the end of the Jedi. There, he sees Shaak Ti being pierced by a blue lightsaber. This episode was first aired in 2014.
But that’s not the only death that Shaak Ti had to endure. In Episode 3, she was even supposed to die twice.
Shaak Ti has a hard time in the universe of Star Wars
When else did Shaak Ti die? In the game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, you play the non-canonical story of Starkiller, a powerful apprentice of Darth Vader. In the game, Shaak Ti survives Order 66, and Vader sends his apprentice on the hunt. After defeating her in a boss fight, she jumps injured into the mouth of a Sarlacc, telling Starkiller that he is destined for more.
In the Nokia N-Gage version of the game, she dies when Starkiller uses a plant monster to attack her. In Lego Star Wars, Obi-Wan and Yoda can be seen watching a tape in which Anakin kills Shaak Ti.
Her most interesting deaths occurred in Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith. There, her death was filmed twice, but neither of the scenes made it into the final film.
At one point, she was supposed to die at the beginning of the film. When Anakin and Obi-Wan arrive on the ship where the Chancellor is held, General Grievous kills Shaak Ti before their eyes. In another cut scene towards the end of the film, Anakin enters a room in the Jedi Temple and kills Shaak Ti while she is meditating (via YouTube).
That would probably have been her Canon death, as it aligns with Yoda’s vision in The Clone Wars. There, too, she is pierced by a blue lightsaber.
Although only one of her deaths is really official
, it is interesting that a supporting character dies so frequently
. The Star Wars universe is filled with countless mysteries. One of them was Obi-Wan’s homeland: Fans of Star Wars didn’t know for 33 years where Obi-Wan comes from, but then George Lucas made a joke
