An annoying glitch has been causing problems in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for a while now. The bug causes players to be so intensely blinded that they can hardly continue playing properly or have to start camping.
The popular shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has surprised us several times in recent months with outrageous bugs or glitches. Some of the errors are quickly identified and fixed by the developers, while others we may never fully get rid of.
Tiring error sends players to bed
What does the latest find look like? Redditor “SmartFrldge” posted a video with a short scene on the map “Arklov Park” and something seems to be wrong with the lighting.
When he turns around, the sunlight is highly intensified. He gets so intensely blinded that he can hardly see anything on the field.
This affects not only direct sunlight but also reflective surfaces like windows. “SmartFrldge” decides to quit the game and go to bed. But it was already 5 a.m.
What are the implications? If you’re affected, you can hardly participate effectively in the match. The bug doesn’t seem to be all that uncommon.
The thread on Reddit is quite small, yet 2 players have already reported having the issue as well (as of February 7th, 10 a.m.).
User “ANiceSpatula” already has a direct solution: “When this happens, I set up my tent, lean back and shoot at anyone who runs by. What else can you do?” The glitch essentially forces him to camp.
What could be the cause? On the map, it looks like the sun is just rising. It might have something to do with the position of the sun, and the intensity of the light rays is incorrectly calculated by the game.
It could also be a diminished form of a graphics glitch that we’ve been seeing since the release.
When “SmartFrldge” turns and looks at the windows, the light spectra of the reflection are briefly visible. The color combinations are reminiscent of the LSD trips that some players get prescribed in Modern Warfare.
Glitches, bugs, and nonsense
What other crazy things are there? Not all bugs or glitches ruin a match for you. Over the months, there have also been things to chuckle about.
There were crazy office chairs that simply took out players, glitchy weapon skins that set your firearms on fire, but also a nasty killer bush that got quite a killstreak in Ground War.
