In FIFA 23 there are many players who may be a bit stronger than in real life. But unfortunately, there is also the other direction: Genius players who cannot keep up in FUT.
In FIFA 23 there are countless football players modeled after their real-life counterparts. Kylian Mbappé dribbles in FIFA 23 just as effectively as in the French Premier League – if not even a bit better.
The Brazilian legend Ronaldo is feared as a goal machine, Zinedine Zidane can also work magic in FIFA like he did on the pitch. And some players are even more feared in FIFA than in real life.
At the same time, there are also players who have achieved everything in world football and who even have high ratings in FIFA 23 on paper, but simply do not function as well.
One such example: The German World Cup legend Miroslav Klose.
Legend in real life – But simply not strong enough in FUT
Klose was so successful: World Champion, all-time top scorer of the German national team, World Cup record holder with the most goals (16). Twice German champion, two-time cup winner with Bayern, one-time cup winner in Italy with Lazio Rome. 121 goals and 74 assists in 307 Bundesliga matches.
You only have to look at a few numbers from Miroslav Klose’s long career to see what a strong career the striker had. Again and again, Klose prepared for his trademark celebration somersault whenever he scored against the opposing team.
But in FIFA, Klose’s abilities just don’t seem to translate well.
What does it look like in FIFA 23? A look at the portal futbin shows interesting numbers about Klose’s cards.
His four icon cards are among the cheapest legends you can get in the game.
- The base version currently costs 75,000 coins
- The mid version also costs 75,000 coins
- The prime version is the most expensive, at 145,000 coins
- And the 90s World Cup Icon card, which reflects World Cup performance, costs 86,000 coins
One could theoretically say: Great, if I want to play Klose, I don’t have to fork out millions of coins, like I would if I wanted to get Ronaldo, for example.
At the same time, this also means that players are simply not willing to buy Klose at higher prices. He simply is not worth it compared to other, better cards – and that as an iconic player. Some players criticize this in the comments on futbin – they believe that especially the World Cup version of Klose deserves better stats.
The problem with the stats: Even if a card has a high rating, it does not mean that it fits well into the FIFA 23 meta. Values like speed, dribbling, or skill moves matter a lot in FIFA. And these are areas where Klose does not shine.
His strengths lie in shooting stats, positioning, reactions, and similar areas. But these stats are simply not as important as others.
A problem that other strikers in FIFA 23 can also bring. Thomas Müller is one such candidate, whose specific style of play only transfers to FIFA 23 to a limited extent.
What do you think about the issue? Would you wish for a change in the values so that players like Klose become more useful? Let us know in the comments.
Otherwise, players are currently trying to earn bonuses in FIFA 23 friendly matches. But that proves to be difficult.
